නලින් ද සිල්වා අන්ත වාදියෙක්ද

ධර්මසිරි සෙනෙවිරත්න
බටහිර විද්‍යාව පට්ටපල් බොරුවක් යය් නලින් කියය් එසේ කියන්නේ බුදු දහමේ පරම සත්‍යය අනුවය් සම්මුතියේ ඇති දේවල් එසේ ” ඇති”’ බව .නලින් පිලිගනිය් සම්මුතිය අනුව තමන් ඉන්නා බව නලින් නලින් දනිය් දන්නා නිසා තමය් රට වෙනුවෙන් කියන්නේ පවුල් දිවි ගෙවන්නේ දරුවන් හදන්නේ සම්මුතියේ ”’මම ”හිටියත් පරම සත්‍යයේ මම නැත.
බටහිර එක රේඛීය චින්තනයේ” දැනුම්” බුදුදහමේ චක්‍රීය චින්තනයේ දැනුමට වෙනස්ය. හඳට යාම පමණක් නොව අප සම්මුතියේ දී කරන සියල්ල බොරුය. නලින් කතා කරන්නේ බුදුදහමේ පරම සත්‍යයට අනෙක් වා වෙනස් වන හැටිය.
බොරු බව දන දැනත් ඔහු විද්‍යාව ගණිතය ඉගැන්වුයේ අනෙක් අයටද එය වටහා දෙමින් සම්මුතියේ ජීවත් වීමට අවශ්‍ය කළමනා සම්පාදනය කිරීමටය . එසේ නැත්නම් බෞද්ධයෝ නියම ධර්මයෙන් ඈත්වී බය්ලා කාරයන් වෙනු ඇත.
එවිට නිර්වාණය ඈතට පලායය් බොරුව ජීවිතයට අවශ්‍ය කර ඇතිවිට එය හඳුනාගෙන ජීවත් වෙන හැටි නලින් කියාදෙය් බටහිර විද්‍යාවෙන් අපි නොමග නොයා මැ ද මාවතේ තියා ගන්නට නලින් මේතෙක් කල කී දේ නිසා අපි අමාරුවේ නොවැටී බේරුනා බව කෘතඥතා සිතින් සඳහන් කරමු සසරින් එතර වන තුරු ජීවිතය නමැති බොරුව කළමනාකරණය කරගන්නාහැටි නලින් උගන්වය් . ධනවාදයේත් මාක්ස් වාදයේත් බටහිර විද්‍යාවෙත් දරිද්‍ර තාව බුදු දහමට අනුව ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙය්

When you fly next time, you can think of Ravana’s plane, ability to fly by mind-development or Isaac Newton’s physics. You cannot get help from Nalin.
We must get good from others and reject bad from others based on our knowledge. But no one can say others are all bad and ours are all good. This is the problem with Nalin.
Just like now he is going kade to MahindaR rejecting everything of Maithreepala, including a thing called personality!!

CWije – It is unfortunate that you cannot fathom what Nalin says. Every word of Dharmasiri is correct. Isaac Newton’s physics, just as much as Einstein’s physics are models that explain an underlying reality but not 100%. They are only close enough approximations to perceived reality also called Sammuti Satya in Buddhism. Nalin comes a little too harsh at times on those who cannot understand his line of thinking. That is all. He is a realist and in this instance in politics he is not “going Kade” for he doesn’t need Mahinda Rajapakse’s patronage to maintain his life style. He has been at the forefront of Jathika Chintanaya and all his analysis on Sri Lanka are based on that perceived reality.
In short he is not a Anta Wadiyek!

Nalin is a great thinker of our time.
Only problem is, he easily loses temper and attacks people who do not get in line with his thinking.
If he does some Samata Bhawana he might get settle down and become stable (He looks like doing Vidarshana Bhawana to gain such insight knowledge..)
We need many thinkers like him.. He loves Mother Lanka to the core… that is why people respect and like him so much regardless of his sometimes eccentricity.

Prof. Nalin De Silva is the only known academic who maintained throughout the Eelam war that Velu can be militarily defeated. And he educated all of us about it through his popular “Dekma” in Iridha Divaina. He was the only for hope for the leaderless Sinhalese, Buddhists for 30 long years. The sudden removal of Dekma is a lot of disappointment to many Sinhala readers. Does anyone know the exact reason for Upali Newspapers to remove it from their weekly?

I share your view 100%.
I think after Seevalie Ratwatta, the top management looks like interfering. Only until couple of days ago their editorial also was supporting MY3 indirectly. Removal of ‘Dekma’ must be a result of that.
However after Sump-Ban-Dong joining the unholy alliance, now they cannot openly support MY3 gang so the editorial is changing. They cannot change the Patriot image they had all these years.
Still the writers like Keerthi Warnakulasuriya, Mano, Sirimewan and also the Editor himself are patriots who love mother lanka and support MR.

I do not deny his service in the past.
But now he is a member of the University GC. Even for free he is recognized by MR. So if he wants impartiality he should stay neutral or give up post and get involved. He is like so many useless VCs appointed to go kade.
If only Lord Buddha can understand Nalin what is the use.
He should not call science pattapal boru. Because that is not a true statement. Does he ever travel by plane?
One loses respect when he condemns others for different viewpoints.
Anyway, him going kade for MR is his choice, which shows that he is blind to mismanagement by MR.

You ask the question ” Does he ever travel by plane?”. In the days gone by people navigated the world by the study of stars. This was a time when people believed that Sun, Moon and the stars all moved around the earth. Since that time “science” have major improvements to that model – these include the heliocentric model of Copernicus, Galileo and later Newton. They all successively made better and better model that approximated to what is being observed than the previous model or theory.
Although the Theory of Relativity was announce in the early twentieth century, the knowledge of just plain Newtonian Physics was sufficient to send and navigate rockets to the Moon and back in 1968 and thereafter. What all this means is that all these models are good at predicting an underlying reality ever closer but never one hundred percent.
This is what Prof Nalin de Silva is trying to tell the world, albeit in a crude and not very people friendly way.
On the political sphere he is not going “shopping” for Mahinda Rajapakse. He is just trying to show the “Big Picture” of Sri Lankan politics in the larger kaleidoscope of World Powers and Politics for those ” Who cannot see the “Woods for the Trees”.
The question of impartiality does not arise when you try to point out what is more closer to the truth than what is more closer to the big lie. That is lie that is being portrayed by Sirisena, who is trying to bring Yaha Palanaya by standing shoulder to shoulder with such giants of greed, hatred, jealousy and gross mismanagement.
We can only hope that the majority of Sri Lankans can see through this fiasco and vote with their hearts and not with their “brains” and those of the so called intellectuals!

Did you know that DSS Senanayaka used govt workers for work in his private farm and Bandaranayaka (a relative of SWRD) made a complaint about it and won?
He used John Kotalawala to attack SWRD and got rid of him to give the job to his son.
In this drama MR did the worst and that is the big picture Nalin does not see.
You should have noticed that I am not saying Nalin did not do a service. But by condemning western science or science he damages his name. After all science is uncovering natures secrets including the secret of man.
