The Chief Minister and the Members of the WESTERN PROVINCAIL COUNCIL

We address this note to convey our appreciation of your efforts and the step taken by the members of the Western Provincial Council in passing of a resolution on 18th Februrary, 2015, CONDENMING  the resolution approved by the Northern Provincial council in accusing Sri Lanka for genocide of Tamil people.

The fact that the majority of Tamil people live in the Western province adds value to your resolution and your expectation that the all three major communities should co-exist peacefully is indeed laudable.

The genocide slogan had been burrowed by the TNA and the Northern Provincial council directly from the LTTE’s false propaganda and the fact that the Tamils were included in all most all Governments in positions of recognition in Sri Lanka is very well established. Further, the fact that the most number of Tamils were killed by the LTTE had been overlooked in the said resolution approved by the NPC. The darkest period for thousands of Tamil children who were forcibly recruited as child soldiers and the Tamil people living in the Northern Province under the jackboot of the LTTE fascists had been surprisingly omitted in the NPC resolution.

You Sir, as the Chief Minister and the members of the Western Provincial Council, deserve a big bouquet of thanks from the people in Sri Lanka for condemning the fallacious and absurd ‘genocide’ resolution

We take this opportunity to convey our best wishes for all your efforts in forging the ethnic harmony in the Western Province
