Former State Minister Rajiva Wijesinha on Tuesday (17) defected and sat in the opposition side of the Parliament citing several issues including the 19th amendment and removal of  the Chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Former State Minister of higher Education Wijesinha resigned from his ministerial portfolio, last month.

Earlier, Wijesinghe asserted that it is completely wrong” to bow down to pressure from groups and remove the UGC Chairperson, without even probing the allegations against her.

Wijesinghe defected from the former government to support Maithripala Sirisena at the presidential Election in January

  1. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Wijeysinghe defected from the former government to support Maithripala Sirisena
On Tuesday Wijeysinghe defected and sat in the opposition side of the Parliament

So if one does not do what this queen Wijeysinghe wants “she” throws a tantrum fit. Just by these two quotes who is this Wijeysinghe?who cares about this man’s opinion and his fits of temper to “defect” here “defect” there and “defect” everywhere when he does not get what he wants. Maybe he can “defect” from Sri Lanka to some rock somewhere where he can die.

MR. Bernard !!! He is the son of Sam Wijesinghe, former Parliamentary something, something. Sam, was a very well known person, and a simple person. I have met him personally at one of my family friend’s house. Rajiva was a very collected guy, but since of late, he is taking crazy decisions. Well educated guy. He seems to be undecided.
