SRI LANKAN GOVERNMENT ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE- CONTRACTS SIGNED BY PRIME MINISTER MR RANIL WICKREMASINGHE MAY BE NULL AND VOID!

The Sri Lankan Government of Prime Minister Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe is facing an uphill task to continue in power.   Its loosely patched government of 40 odd seats of his own party Members of Parliament ( out of 225 seats in Parliament – meagre 20%) is being provided oxygen by the SLFP Members of Parliament.   These SLFP members are now secretly moving away from RW, realizing that the country is overwhelmingly demanding the removal of the Prime Minister.

Constitutionally, there is an illegal Government in force in Sri Lanka today. The recent Presidential Election was held to elect a President and not to elect a new Prime Minister. If the new President prefer an alternative Prime Minister, the newly appointed candidate should face a vote of Confidence on the floor of the House. Mr RW has so far not faced a vote a confidence in Parliament. Will a future government nullify any long term contracts or agreements signed by Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe as Prime Minister? His draconian acts as a dictator and vindictive behaviour are the main causes for his downfall, otherwise RW is an intelligent personality.   He is attempting to run the minority government, in the same way he is running his political party, viz. UNITED NATIONAL PARTY.   The SLFP members of Parliament had been with the President Mahinda Rajapakse for many years, who was seen as a leader and team player with skills of being able to exploit the strengths of multi-party members for the benefit of the Nation. MR is not a vindictive man. MR is not a crook but is an intelligent man with a vision for the Nation.

By contrast the Prime Minister Mr Ranil Wickremansighe has never been a team player.   In every occasion where he had been given the opportunity to govern the Nation, his period in power was short lived.   He first became the Prime Minister immediately after the assassination of Mr R Premadasa in 1993. (The killing of Mr Premadasa is still a mystery, though LTTE is largely blamed for the May Day assissination). He lost government to Mrs CBK at the next election in 1994. He then became the Prime Minster in 2001 with 109 seats for the United National Party under UNITED NATIONAL FRONT. Once again he demonstrated his lack of vision by signing a Norway sposored Ceasefire Agreement with the LTTE.   When he was away overseas, the President CBK sacked him as Prime Minister and dissolved the Parliament in April 2004.

The most recently concluded meeting at Kurunegala had attracted 55 odd members of the Parliament. However, according to inner circle log book records the exact number of MPs favouring the return of President Mahinda Rajapakse as Executive Prime Minister are well in excess of the cut-off number required.

President Maithreepala Sirisena did miss a golden opportunity to reconcile with President Mahinda Rajapakse during the recently concluded meeting.   He had no alternative as he has almost become a “SCUM BAG” of Westerners.

Hey guys did you read the article about Sirisena getting into the wrong car? What an idiot! He is like a deer in the headlights. He came to power through the back door so he should exit from the back door as well.

It does not matter. Eelam will be born. When it does become a reality it is up to Colombo and Jaffna to work together and not squabble.

  3. Kumari Says:

It is a sigh of relief to learn that there is a greater possibility for Agreements entered into by RW would be null and void. Why aren’t any of our legal experts contesting RW’s appointment in courts? Especially a legal counsel for the duly appointed PM, Mr. D M Jayaratne.

  4. Cerberus Says:

Dilrook Kanangara had written two articles with statistics showing how the last election was cheated by the Tamils by double voting. I am surprised that no one has taken action with the election commissioner to declare the election null and void. In the first place I still do not understand why MR had elections when he did. I think he realized that RAW and the West was after his blood and also he had too many thugs in his government. Now that he is rid of the baggage he should get this my3 government declared null and void and start afresh. Otherwise Sri Lanka is doomed.

MY3 and BATALANDA MINEEMARUWA-RW have been with LTTE TAMIL TERRORISTS over a long period secretly.
Traitor MY3 had AAPPA with MR in the night before the following day submitting his nominations for Presidency. This DIRTY RASCAL CONTESTED THE ELECTIONS UNDER SWAN SYMBAL AS A COMMON CANDIDATE!!!
WHY WAS THIS BASTERED OFFERED THE SLFP LEADERSHIP?????
He is not at all QUALIFIED TO LEAD SLFP AS THIS TRAITOR CONTESTED ON A DIFFERENT SYMBAL AND ALSO ASA COMMON CANDIDATE.
Nimal Siripala De Silva is another TRAITOR WHO IS SUPPORTING MY3 THEBIGGEST TRAITOR TO REMAIN IN POWER AS HE LOST HIS SEAT IN BADULLA LAST TIME.These BLOODY IDIOPTS SHOULD BE CHASED OUT FROM SLFP!!!
MR SHOULD NOW CONSIDER CONTESTING UNDER A DIFFERENT PARTY WITH DINESH G,VASUDEVA N,WIMAL W and the other affiliates as the entire 58000 VOTERS AND MORE ARE BEHIND MR WHO SAVED OUR MOTHERLAND FROM LTTA TAMIL MURSERERS TERRORISTS!!!

  6. Ratanapala Says:

Maithripala Sirisena the waiter (who takes orders from others) should be impeached for promising an illegal act – that of promising and handing over the Premiereship to the serial failure Don Juan Ranil – leader of the United Christian Party, without even a bye-you to the walking mummy D M Jayaratne. Maithripala has not right to promise such an undertaking when there is a due process of appointing the Prime Minister in the constitution and in the parliament.

The United Christian Party scum hoodwinked the nation with their false promises of Yahapalanaya and pick-pocketed the Government Administration by foul means. The idiots of the SLFP too fell in the trap. Only saving grace came from the astute thinking of Mahinda Rajapakse by handing him the Chairmanship of the SLFP. This is like a hot coal in his hand. Now the ‘waiter’ doesn’t know what to do. He is got the SLFP on one hand and the tail of the United Christian Party with all the shit that come from below the tail on his face. He is meowing like the proverbial cat that crapped on the rock. He is now licking his soiled fingers having touched the skin of an ageing prima donna in England.

I hope this tragicomedy is in its last days!

I am thinking that the FALSE War Crimes charge against MR, the Army, and the MR then govt had something to do with the call for early elections. The charge was made by the UNHRC.

In his speech in Lanka, Mr John Kerry said that ‘sometimes war is necessary. We are against how it was done’ (may not be exact words). I take it that Mr Kerry is against the fact that Tamil civilians were found dead on the ground after the firing ended and a body count began. Even the UN reps were eye witnesses at the final war. Now, how did so many ‘civilian’ bodies lie on the ground ? Here is the explaination. Mr N. Ladduwahetty in his two articles re this topic, analysed the final war (articles reproduced in L’web).

    * Tamil civilians were taken in thousands as the LTTE Human Shield. The Shield broke up when firing began and Tamil civilians ran toward the safe zone. They were caught in the cross fire and some died.

    * Also it is likely that the LTTE fired at them to stop the Shield from breaking up.

    * Most of the LTTE ‘army’ were composed of Tamil folk in civilian clothing. There was no time to ‘dress’ for war and I doubt that the LTTE had enough of their army clothes too. So Tamils in civilian clothing took part in the war. Many of them would have died. In the counting of the dead, because of their civilian clothing, they would have been counted as Tamil civilians.
On the surface, it would have appeared that a lot of Tamil civilians lay dead on the ground. The UN would have counted them ALL as Tamil civilians and concluded that the war was conducted in poorly manner ?

  8. Fran Diaz Says:

NB: The official figure of Tamils who died in the final war approx 7,000.

  9. Christie Says:

Namaste: “He had no alternative as he has almost become a “SCUM BAG” of Westerners.”
This is where we have to change our mind set. Killing of most of the leading politicians of the Island were the work of India through the Indian terrorist arm. Please remove your anti Western glasses and see who are our enemies? The first lot is Indians then the Westerners. How many Westerners are there compared to compared to Indian Colonial Parasites in the Island? Jai Hind

  10. Christie Says:

Namaste: By the way Ranil is the leader of a Significant number of MPs of the Parliament and the President had the power to appoint him the PM according to the Constitution standing as at 8th Jan 2015. So it is a legal appointment. “Significant” does not mean leader of the “Majority”. This is what I understand, I may be wrong. Jai Hind

Western Mafia comes in droves and interfere in our affairs,India is sending all coolies to fill lands in the North,Muslims are destroying the lands to build houses,Terrorists going to celebrate heroes day around the world etc Hey what’s going on man? This Sira,Ranil/Choura/Awamangalaya foursome is taking our country back to 30 years. Hey Sinhalese wake up.Do not wait till it happens Dooms day will be near with this shit lot.

MR group must take this illegal Govt to courts. Do not trust Sira for a second. He is a shit master, a traitor, Western Agent and a liar. His partners were all rejected garbage like Chandrika,Ranil,Rajitha,Champaka,Anura lot. Join the forces of MR if you need to save Motherland because he has proved beyond doubt that he still can be a strong candidate to run the Govt of Sri Lanka. All true S.L.F.Per’s must join hands with MR not Wal Sira who left S.L.F.P. and party Boss MR to contest against him as a non S.L.F.Per.

Is it 43 members significant out of 225? They kidnapped MY3,then hijacked the Premiership, stole money from the Central bank and start kidnapping young girls what a shame and what a unpopular Govt we have today.

  12. Metteyya_Brahmana Says:

If I were UPFA and the SLFP, I would no confidence Ranil, Ravi, Mangala, Amaratunga out of the government BEFORE Parliament is dissolved, which forces Maithripala to wait to dissolve Parliament and gives the SLFP and UPFA a chance to regain control of the government before the next election.

  13. Metteyya_Brahmana Says:

As for the legality of Ranil’s position – it is ‘barely’ legal. He did ‘publish’ the fact that Maithripala would appoint him as prime minister before the January 8th elections in the election manifesto, even though Maithripala did not highlight this fact in the campaign. I personally spoke to many villagers who were completely unaware that Ranil would be promised the prime minister position. Also, no where in the manifesto does it say that Maithripala would TRANSFER the power of the president to the prime minister, just that he would abolish the dictatorial parts of executive power, but no detail was provided as to how this would be done. Legally, I guess you could argue that an informed electorate could guess that if the president is going to have less executive power, this power must go somewhere, and the prime minister is at least one possible destination. My guess is 99% of Maithripala’s non-UNP Buddhist voters did not engage in this sort of guessing, and are completely surprised that Ranil is now running the country (controlling the executive function through his cabinet appointments) instead of Maithripala.

And on the cabinet appointment issue, Ranil can now argue that the current 19th Amendment that just passed authorizes him to make the appointments since it contains language that the president ‘shall’ accept the advice of the prime minister on cabinet appointments.

Nonetheless, as indicated in my post above, given the small UNP support in Parliament, the SLFP and the UPFA could effectively regain control of the government now by no confidence votes against Ranil and all of the problem UNP ministers who harming the country internationally, economically, and domestically by shutting out China, stopping all of the development projects, and politicizing the legal system.

Chandrika says there is no money to pay the PS employees. Are we back to Sri Lanka illang Ka?

  15. Metteyya_Brahmana Says:

    L. Perera,

No one cares what Chandrika thinks or says!

Sri Lanka just secured a large line of credit from the Asian Development Bank, and these folks do not lend billions of dollars to ANY country unless they have concluded through their own due diligence that the country can pay their bills.

Like Mangala, Chandrika thinks she can get away with saying ANYTHING in public regardless of the facts.

Former Defense Secretary of Sri Lanka files FR petition against agency probing financial crimes
Mon, May 11, 2015, 07:02 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 11, Colombo: Former Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has today filed a fundamental rights (FR) petition at the Supreme Court against the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) of police.

Rajapaksa in the petition has challenged the legality of the establishment of the FCID that is probing serious financial fraud and irregularities,

The respondents in the petition include the Cabinet of Ministers, Secretary to the President, Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspect General of Police (Frauds and Corruption Investigative Division), Director of the CID, and the Attorney General.

The former secretary of defense is under investigation by the unit over his alleged involvement in several high-profiled financial transactions.

  17. Metteyya_Brahmana Says:

    Indrajith,

If the FCID is powerless to investigate and OBVIOUS securities fraud with Central Bank Governor, then we know they have no credibility as an independent justice agency and are just doing whatever Ranil tells them to do.

It is simply laughable that a three-person panel of Ranil’s friends and party loyalists operating outside of the traditional legal system ‘cleared’ the Central Bank Governor of an insider dealing securities fraud that would have landed him in prison in the United States for at least five years if he had engaged in the same conduct there.
