Former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa fears LTTE revival in country

Former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is mounting a political comeback, has expressed fears that the separatist Tamil Tigers could regroup and revive terrorism in the country.
“We are glad that terrorists are no more. But I have a suspicion that we may return to see terrorism,” Rajapaksa said.
“We don’t want to see that happening we want everyone to live in peace and harmony,” he told a religious gathering in the north central town of Anuradhapura on Friday.
Rajapaksa, who led the Sri Lankan forces in the bloody victory over the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in 2009, plans to contest parliamentary polls in another bid to return to power.
He first won in 2005, surfed a wave of popularity among the Sinhala majority to win again in 2010. He then had the Constitution changed to allow the third term he hoped to win in January’s poll.
But the veteran politician suffered a surprise defeat in snap presidential polls he called.
Rajapaksa’s defeat to President Maithripala Sirisena came despite his popularity among the Sinhala Buddhist majority.
Sirisena received wide support from minority Tamils and Muslims with sizable support from the Sinhalese, who were fed up with Rajapaksa’s authoritarian rule.
Rajapaksa, in order to shore up the Sinhala Buddhist support, has often visited Buddhist temples.
He has accused Sirisena of relaxing security in the North in a bid to grant the Tamil demand for demilitarisation of the former conflict zones.
But the Sri Lankan government has publicly condemned those trying to make a political capital by raising fears of LTTE revival.
The nearly three-decades-long LTTE war ended in 2009 with the defeat of the Tigers and resulting in the deaths of at least 100,000 people.

The recent events ii the north and the bold racist attitude on the Chief minister shows that the Tamil separatist are confident the President is a powerless puppet and is controlled by the western forces funded by the diaspora through their proxies Ranil and Chandrika. It is not only in Sri Lanka, the diaspora is getting confident in the UK, Canada and in Australia as well. The recent event in Australia when a bold Australian Lady was man handled by the LTTE supporters when she rose to speak about atrocities committed against the Sinhalese confirms this. President MR has every right to speak against the policies of this illegal government giving into the terrorist and their sympathisers.

Mr.President you are not alone in this battle against the most cruel,shameless,Gestapo Govt ever had in Sri Lanka. Sira is no #1 traitor not only to you but to the whole nation though he won the election against you. He won thru a coup as we all know. We know about the money transactions before the elections between his supporters. We know who was behind the coup and which Govts helped this lot to take power in to their hands. A man who lost 29 times suddenly got the Premiership HOW? It was all planned and nicely executed. This shameless Govt must be toppled.Sinhala stupids must get united then only we can send these foreign funded evil traitors home. Sira is collaborating with Ranil to stop Mahinda with the advise of foreign agencies. He is not a people’s leader but a western puppet.
Ungrateful Tamils & Muslims have already started to dance according to their own tunes. Our traitors are watching not doing anything to stop them. While Sinhalese were arrested and put behind bars the Tamils & Muslims enjoy Sira’s hospitality in style. LTTE will definitely raise their heads if we allow these Tamils to go on like this.We can see from the signs of their behavior. They openly criticize the Govt and the war heroes and demanding action on war crimes. These things happens because of the weak Govt we have today with Sira & Ranil the pimp. Sinhala people must get united under MR and fight the evil traitors who are threatening our sovereignty and peace. MR is not trying to make a political capital out of anything but it is true what he says because we saw what happened in the past 3-4 months. Sri Lanka is the only Sinhala country in the world and we cannot allow 22% minority to take over our beloved homeland. This will never happened in our life time. I will bet on my life.

Who governs Lanka at present ?
It is the Diaspora Tamils and vested interests.

The new idea from the illegal govt is to bring Tamils from T’Nadu camps to vote. This must never happen. 145,000 Tamils NEVER went back to T’Nadu as agreed per Sirima/Shasthri Pact (1964). Hundreds of thousands of Tamils have entered Sri Lanka illegally since the 1983 riots. P’karan himself said that a third of the LTTE army were from Tamil Nadu. So, what more proof ?
Stop illegals coming to Lanka.
The Tamils in camps of T’Nadu should be given Indian citizenship to balance the illegal entrants into Lanka. We do NOT want any more Tamil folk in Lanka as Tamil leaders create so much trouble for Lanka using them.

BREAKING NEWS.
Looks like GR will leave SL to take up a TOP academic position in either NTU or NUS in Singapore on COUNTER TERRORISM EXPERTISE. These are highly prestigious universities in Singapore.
If that happens I blame the people who PREVENTED him from coming to politics.
That will be a MASSIVE LOSS for SL.
