On 17 August vote for past achievements; not for future promises.

Promises ! Promises !!Promises !!!  But what has UNP done since 1978.

UNP  profiting from a President elected mostly by a Tamil and a Muslim vote not knowing what to do with the Presidency cast upon him fell heavily on  Ranil Wickramasinghe of UNP as his saviour and made him his Prime Minister. Ranil Wickramasighe and his UNP rejected 29 times by the people revelled at the sudden fortune fallen upon them to set up a UNP government with a cabinet of UNP Ministers.

It was a hostile government based on thoughts of revenge ,hatred, jealousy, slandering , and mudslinging at the Previous President Mahinda Rajapakse  and his government and associates.  They continued it for 180 days, having stopped most of the development projects that had been undertaken by the former President and his government.

To-day the Country-Sri Lanka is negatively affected by this hostility of  Ranil Wickramasinghe and his UNP Ministers.

The country under Mahinda Rajapase had developed from being a developing country to a medium income state within ten years of  indefatigable work undertaken by  the previous Government of  determined Mahinda Rajapakse . His object was to  bring Sri Lanka to the top amoung once developing countries and  make it equal to a developed country.

Mahinda Rajapakse would have succeeded despite the barriers put before him by the USA and the West along with a resolution against Sri Lanka for imagined’  violation of human rights  in the elimination of a group of Tamil terrorists, if he had not  unexpectedly suffered a defeat at the Presidential elections of the 8th January, 2015.

The subsequent setup of  a UNP government headed by Ranil Wickramasinghe, Sri Lanka suffered the most, and has  gone backward in development, and will suffer further in development, security and freedom.  The West, since colonisation of Sri Lanka by the Dutch Portuguese and the British,  was determined to diminish the importance of   Buddhism and the culture  built around it  preserved and protected by the Sinhala.  But the Sinhala and the Buddhist monks were strong and helped by Sinhala Buddhist leaders thwarted this attempts by the West and their local political henchmen.

The West found an ample number of local henchmen to carry out their nefarious activities against developing nations  within  most of the developing countries.  In Sri Lanka they found  in UNP  their breeding place for anti-nationalist, anti Buddhist , activists. The UNP Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapakse said recently that Sri Lanka does not belong to the Sinhala.

Eran Wickramaratne   and  Hansdunetti of JVP who work along side  the UNP with amoung them a CIA Agent according to latest news, castigated a Sri Lankan expatriate living in London who participated in a TV Political debate(Aluth Paralimenthuwa) to show with photographic evidence the activities of the pro-terrorist Tamil diaspora in UK in collaboration with the British Government, saying that he was raising a racial issue  and  that type of information cannot be accepted.

UNP has other Christian UNP Ministers working  against Sinhala Buddhist issues, such as John Amaratunga, Michael Perera, Rosy Senanayake, Ravi Karunanayake, Mangala Samaraweera, Ranjan Ramanayake, and Ranil Wickramasinghe – himself a Christian.

Now they keep promising lot of things but never keep their promises. Today, Ranil Wickramasinghe promised to build an Island in the Indian Ocean  to accommodate 80 lacks of people.

The UNP has put lacks of people of work with the stoppage of the development projects undertaken by the previous government and promises  20 lacks of jobs for youth.

President Sirisena promises a fundamental transformation to democracy, with a new government . But for all intents and purposes Sri Lanka was always an exemplary democracy and what they propose with fundamental transformation to democracy is another vague unaccountable promise.

Wijedasa Rajapakse promises a new constitution for a pluralistic  society which he does not define.  Madoluwawe Sobhita is promising reforms for a just society which the learned Bikkhu too does not  define.

But there are negative issues which they try to hide such  as a a tax on water, which will be a burden on farmers,  for which a cabinet paper has already been prepared. UNP also suggests a bridge to connect Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka which is already  planned.  Ranil Wickramasinghe promises to give back the Companies taken over by the Sri Lanka government .  Upul Jayasuriya wants to pay compensation to owners of Companies that had been taken over by the government.

There you are  dear voters of Sri Lanka the shape of things to come with a capitalist unrealistic UNP if they come to power.

Should we go by these promises and vote for the UNP for them to carry out the parts of the hidden Agenda, such as a  water tax, bridge to connect Tamil Nadu to North of Sri Lanka, an Island in the Indian Ocean to house 80 lacks of people, a Federal System of Government with a separate Tamil State in the North and a Muslim State in the East.  They also speak of an American base in the North and perhaps lease Mattala airport to an American Private Company.

The alternative is what had been done by Mahinda Rajapakse from 2005 to 2014.  Those activities  that had been undertaken and completed successfully are there to be scene. They are real.

Going by what Mahinda Rajapakse had done after elimination of terrorists it is evident that he keeps his promises.

And going from what he had done,  what he promises to do if he were to come back as the Prime Minister  cannot be doubted.  He is a man who had been tried out by the people and approved as a genius who changed Sri Lanka from a hell that it was when he became the President in 2005 to a Paradise when he left on the 8th January,2015.

Of course  Ranil Wickramasinghe, and his UNP Ministers will not give credit to what Mahinda Rajapakse has done, as condemning his work is a means for them to dupe the voters to get their votes.

Ranil Wickramasinghe and his UNP Ministers are now wallowing in the environment of peace and freedom without fear, which Mahinda Rajapakse has provided by eliminating terrorism, building a strikingly beautiful infrastructure and make Sri Lanka a place equal to many place in developed countries.

Hence Dear Voters do not hesitate, do not go by negative publicity about MahindaRajapakse and his previous Government .  Neither  Mahinda Rajapakse nor his entourage has stolen any money from any projects.

Ranil Wickramasinghe and  his hostile UNP Ministers tried since January 8th 2015 to prove that Mahinda Rajapakse , his government and every one connected to him had stolen public money, but have miserably failed to prove one case against any one of them.

Some of those with Mahinda Rajapakse  may have had human failings common to every one but none of them have  been proved to have embezzled public funds.

These were methods  imagined and  proposed by the CIA as a means to make Rajapaksas unpopular and change regime.  These are well tried out methods suggested by CIA which is in close contact with Ranil Wickramasinghe Mangala Samaraweera and the rest to keep Mahinda Rajapakse from coming back to power as the Prime Minister.

Having failedto bring disrepute to Mahinda Rajapakse with all accusations of theft and bribery, now they sayt hat Mahinda Rajapakse paid Millions of Rupees to Prbahakaran to assure his safety and that of his family. UNP really takes the people for fools.

If you the Voters get fooled by these blatant lies and vote against Mahinda Rajapakse, you will be doing a mistake you will regret all your life. Because if UNP comes back to power it will sell Sri Lanka to America and the West and divide the country between the Tamils and the Muslims. If that  happens you will never be able to put it back to right again.

Therefore be wise and intelligent think and discuss amoung yourselves and understand exactly what you are doing  and ask yourself  whether you are doing the correct thing.

If you have any doubts about  Mahinda Rajapake and vote against him Sri Lanka will be doomed for ever.  There is no real reason to doubt the honesty of Mahinda Rajapakse. He is a real patriot, and above all he is a Buddhist.

Vote for the Betel Leaf to bring back Mahinda Rajapakse as the Prime Minister and be assured you will not regret.

That will be the act of your life time, for which the generations to come will thank you with gratitude.

As Mahinda said in the Derana 360 TV interview, 1.5 million people lost employment and the income they earned as a result of the Yamapalanaya Govt stopping ALL National Infrastructure Development initiated by the previous GoSL out of JEALOUSY & RANK DEMAGOGUERY!

When the UPFA govt comes to power on August 17, 2015 those 1.5 million jobs will be regained by those who lost them because the infrastructure development projects now stopped and languishing will be REVIVED immediately!

Those who said it does not matter which Govt is in power, have NOW LEARNED the CONSEQUENCES of their STUPIDITY!

Let these people WHO HAVE WOKEN up DO THEIR DUTY to RESTORE the Patriotic UPFA Government of Sri Lanka.

VISION, PATRIOTISM & ABILITY are the PILLARS of PROGRESS of the MR/UPFA program of National Revival!

Wigneswaran is WORSE than the Tiger Nominated Agents of the TNA, and supports “radical” Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF) … demanding EELAM now!

They SMELL the BLOOD of Mother Lanka in the ELECTORAL WATERS leading up to the General Election on August 17, 2015 and are INCREASING their DEMANDS!

WHO ENCOURAGED, AIDED and ABETTED the SEPARATISTS to bring about this state of INCEASED THREAT now to our Motherland in a SHORT 7-months after that DAY OF INFAMY Jan 8, 2015?

WHO but the Anti-national TRAITORS of the UNPatriotic Party, and its Power Hungry collaborators Somarama Sirisena, Champika Ranawaka, Ratana Hamuduruwo, and Rajitha Senatatne??

    DAMN them ALL to HELL!!

EMBALA SINHALAYENI … AWADIWANNA! …. DEFEND Mother Lanka ….Vote for MR/UPFA NOW!

    …………………..
‘Neutral’ Wigneswaran’s Statement Shows Tilt Towards TNPF

Aug 12 (NIE) COLOMBO- Northern Province Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran’s statement on Wednesday telling Sri Lankan Tamils who they should vote for in the August 17 parliamentary elections, seems to be an endorsement of the radical Tamil National Peoples’ Front (TNPF) rather than his own party, the moderate Tamil National Alliance (TNA).

Justifying his “neutrality” in the elections, Wigneswaran said that politicians who had got elected earlier had flouted their promises in regard to the Tamils’ rights such as the right to self-determination. They had done precious little to set right the wrongs done to the Tamils during and after Eelam War IV.

The elected leaders had been stressing the need to “get along” with the leaders of South Sri Lanka, thereby “selling out” to the latter. If they had any intention to make such compromises, they should have said so in their manifestoes, Wigneswaran argued!

That the accusing finger was pointed at the TNA is clear because most Sri Lankan Tamils elected to representative bodies are from that party. The TNPF had boycotted the Northern Provincial Council and Presidential elections. It is contesting the August parliamentary elections, though.

The TNA’s stand has been that cooperation of the South Lankan Sinhalese parties is necessary to secure Tamils’ rights. That was why it backed Maithripala Sirisena in the January 8 Presidential election. The TNPF, on the other hand, spurns cooperation with the Sinhalese parties and believes that support of the Tamil Diaspora and the West is enough.

The TNA believes that India’s support is necessary, but the TNPF differs. Significantly, Wigneswaran’s statement mentions the need to secure the West’s support, but ignores India.

Observers suspect that the pro-LTTE section of the Tamil Diaspora is propping up TNPF and Wigneswaran. The moderate Diaspora, represented by the Global Tamil Forum, is supporting TNA.

Criticising Wigneswaran’s stand, V.Thanabalasingham, editor of Thinakkural said: “Having won with TNA’s support, Wigneswaran has a moral obligation to support it now. He says he is neutral, but it is clear that he is backing a particular party. His stand has caused confusion in voters’ minds.”

Informed sources told Express that the TNA is contemplating action against Wigneswaran after the elections.

Charles said “President Sirisena promises a fundamental transformation to democracy, with a new government . But for all intents and purposes Sri Lanka was always an exemplary democracy …”

EXACTLY! Although a POOR 3rd World Nation, Sri Lanka has always been an EXEMPLARY DEMOCRACY compared to the BEST DEMOCRACIES in the world.

That is why Sri Lanka was able, unlike India much ballleyhooed by Western Powers sucking up to India as a counter to China, to raise the LITERACY RATE of our people from about 34% before Independence to over 95% today, while caste -ridden India still wallows in ILLITERACY, POVERTY and DISCRIMINATION.

Furthermore, even while bedeviled by a Foreign Supported 30-year war, democracy survived in Sri Lanka. Our FAULT was in NOT REJECTING the FLAWED ADVICE of WESTERN apologists for terrorist separatists and WIPING THEM OUT in a few years!

ALL of these YAHAPALANAYA IDIOTS are JEALOUS people GREEDY for power and willing to sell their Motherland to Foreigners and Separatists to ACHIEVE it.

In their INFINITE STUPIDITY they have NO PLAN for how they HOPE TO SURVIVE the LEGITIMATE ANGER & JUST RETRIBUTION from their fellow citizens that they will INEVITABLY EARN in the longer term! They have NO KNOWLEDGE of Bastille Day! Their BACKUP PLAN MUST BE to EMIGRATE to the countries of their Foreign Masters whose PUPPETS they BECAME! SHAME!

  4. Lorenzo Says:

    Democracy stuffed SL up.

Today relatives of LTTE and AQ are the KINGMAKERS of SL thanks to democrazy.

UNP+TNA have got down tens of thousands of Tamilians from TN and diaspora to rig the August 17 election. JOHN had instructed police NOT to arrest or obstruct foreign passport holders on the election day.

Election commissioner has instructed to allow MORE PARTY ACTIVISTS in counting centres!!! What madness is this!! UNP has registered HUNDREDS OF INDEPENDENT GROUPS who will get into counting centres and rig the votes and bribe counters.

Expect a rigged vote on August 17.

  5. LANKAPUTHRA Says:

Lorenzo, here I agree with you. Ballot Box stuffing is a common word that is used to show how the ballot box can be stuffed during transporting from the polling station to the counting center. Next data entry person entering on to the computer. Application Program that this PUNK THE RETIRED JVP KILLER, the Election Commissioner, can manipulate from his hand held device. He went to Singapore to get this training. He spent one week there learning. If a journalist questions him Next day his house is visited by his private police force.

  6. ranjit Says:

Why can’t the Sinhalese Buddhists cannot understands the the danger we will face if a UNP Govt comes to power? TNA & Muslims openly talks about their dreamland’s if UNP wins. They openly say that they will get rid of police and Forces from their areas. Same unpatriotic words can be heard again like in war times. They are telling openly that they will take revenge from war heroes including Rajapksa’s. What’s more you need to understand that UNP is a party for division of the country. They will definitely divide the country to get the Tamil & Muslim votes and support. It’s the main demand of these two groups and the Americans and Indian Parasites. No need to think twice just give your vote blindly to Mahinda and the BETEL to save our land and Buddhism.

  7. Dilrook Says:

It will not work. Even in developed countries voters vote for promises and not for past performance. Past performance only gives more credibility to the likelihood of delivery of promises. It makes sense as people are futuristic and don’t want to dwell in the past. It must be remembered that Mahinda won in 2004, 2005 and 2010 with Mahinda Chinathanaya – a set of practical and relevant promises. His catchy promise ‘A Brighter Future’ was a promise too. Therefore, Mahinda (with all other politicians) has created a trend of promises and it cannot be unplugged now. If the UNP beats the UPFA in the promises contest (not just cheap promises but also promises of some worth), then UPFA doesn’t deserve to win.

The same can be seen in business where a prospectus is presented. It has to be lucrative for investors to put their money in. And the people behind it must be credible too. What is past is sunk cost and it is disregarded by investors.

  8. charithsls Says:

The problem is not where Tamils or Muslims vote but with Sinhalese or their factious politics. Why should any Sinhalese vote against MR, though he has had issues, with the impending danger to the country’s sovereignty & independence is beyond belief except for the fact of economy. With NGOs’ money pouring in & imperialists support, UNP is at a great advantage. So all patriotic Sinhala Buddhists votes should have been the goal. I was in the opinion from the very beginning MR camp should have roped in JHU & some JVP fraction etc.Who gives the face of Sinhala Buddhists to RW’s camp & stage, JHU! MR could have struck hard on patriotism if JHU were in their camp. If Chandrika & Ranil,JVP can patch up why could not MR. Hope Sinhalese who voted for MS will vote with their feet now, Muslims & Tamils so unpatriotic it is not worth a dime to campaign for their votes. Why did not we have feeds here from every district how the election is going on?Can MR group make a big surprise just before the election? MS giving a big acceptance to MR etc etc??

  9. Ananda-USA Says:

    Dear Dilrook,

I partly disagree with you on your analysis of the emphasis VOTERS will place on past performance vs future promises.

There is also an issue of TRUST at play in the decisions voters make.

A good past performance with past promises fulfilled, engenders TRUST, whereas PROMISES from those who have not delivered in the past are seen as VIRTUAL WARE from scammers.

MR/UPFA has DELIVERED in the last 10 years in SPADES, whereas the UNP has no such positive record except a SERIES of FAILURES on everything it has attempted in the past.

MR said as much in the recent Hiru TV interview Video: when the interviewer asked what GUARANTEE MR offers that he will DELIVER on his promises. MR answered “My record of ACCOMPLISHMENTS and DELIVERY on the PROMISES I have made in the last 10 years is MY GUARANTEE. ” There is NO BETTER ANSWER that can be given that, because he has a GREAT RECORD of ACCOMPLISHMENT!

The UNP simply CANNOT match that answer and gain the TRUST of the Voter: it has NO RECORD of SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY to show except a SERIES of FAILURES!

Even in Investing (the Analogy you advanced) investors look at the CREDIT RATING to judge whether they can TRUST in the claims made by those seeking an investment. This is true even in VENTURE CAPITAL funding. If there is NO RECORD of SUCCESS, people will not invest their money with you, reflecting their lack of TRUST!

It is the SAME in the Politics of Voting in Elections; TRUST goes hand in hand with PROMISES!

However, many voters are not impartial evaluators of PERFORMANCE and TRUST; many will vote according to their pre-determined interests, agendas and fears.

For example, I am driven mainly by my fears regarding Sri Lanka’s national security and territorial integrity. That trumps all other issues for me. Not every other voter is like that.

  10. Charles Says:

what Dilrook says may be accepted as a truism. But as Ananda points out to accept promises is to look at their achievements. But when there are no achievements to go by the promises are mere promises. There is also the aspect of seeing neither the past nor the future but the present, and UNP cannot boast of a credible present.
