In post election Sri Lanka there seems to be a lot of agitation on the part of the TNA, once virtually an open front of the LTTE that their demands and calls for autonomy need to be recognized by virtue of gaining 16 seats in Parliament and there has also been a request albeit in a manner that sounds comical they be recognized as the official opposition.
While it must be remembered that the previous administration in the best interests of the Sinhala Nation made no concessions or acceded to the continued demands of the TNA backed by the Tamil community ie. diaspora often inspired by the Tamil Tiger idealogies they also made sure that national security was imperative and the threat of resurgence of the quest for secession was totally suppressed while sparing no pains in prioritising the need.
Hopefully the present administration too will follow this example in making Sri Lanka a safe place for all her citizens and lessons learned from the past where bartering and bargaining with the TNA should be avoided as their past track record and their manoueverings today indicate how determined they still are towards their commitment to secession. This becomes quite apparent when calls for “two nations under one rule” a ridiculous interpretation of what tantamounts to an unhealthy interpretation of governance are heard especially in Sri Lanka where the miniscule minority of Tamils have no right to such a demand over an overall and compelling majority of Sinhalese and provides what could be an extended dilemma for the new administration if such a demand was ceded to.
In comparing the CTC to the TNA in the item attached in a flashbak previously published-,, the dangers expressed herein are visibly as we return to a symposium that did indeed outline all the dangers involved in a scenario that capitulates to Tamil demands where the Administration should be forewarned. There are many intermediary groups that play the role of Amnesty International in Sri Lanka today and all the more reason that the Administration should tread carefully especially with individuals like Ranil Wickremasinghe who in the past would do almost anything to preserve their agendas irrespective honour and integrity however irregular it might be.

TERRORIST FRONTS IN CANADA TRAP AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
The Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) contributed C$ 50,000 to Amnesty International (AI) in Canada in January 2012. The CTC is a Front of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a ruthless terrorist group defeated in Sri Lanka. After supporting LTTE’s terrorist agenda for a decade, CTC is today seeking to manipulate the Human Rights agenda.
The President of CTC, Suntharamoorthy Umasuthan, who made the donation to AI is himself a subject of terrorist investigation. Umasuthan’s associate Thavarajah Pratheepan, Deputy Chief of LTTE procurement, is in US custody. Umasuthan and a few of his associates in Canada feature in a multinational investigation into arms, ammunition and explosives purchases from North Korea, the key supplier of LTTE weaponry.
CTC – WEAPONS LINKS :
As the LTTE is criminalized (designated, proscribed or banned), it is operating on Western soil through innocuous organizations. The LTTE advances its interests through community, charity, non-profit, human rights, media and other fronts. Despite attempts to conceal, the links between CTC and LTTE propaganda, financing, procurement, etc., their activities are extensive and have penetrated deep into the system.
The Director of Communications of CTC in 2005, Sahil Sabaratnam (28), is serving 25 years in a US Prison for procuring weapons for the LTTE. Sahil was arrested in New York in August 2006 buying 20 SA – 18 heat seeking missiles, 10 missile launchers, 500 AK 47 weapons and other military equipment. Sahil operated together with his brother in law Thani Thanigasalam (38), who headed the cell and Satha Sarachandran (27), President of the Tamil Youth Organization (TYO) Canada of the LTTE (2003 – 2005). The statement issued by Satha Sarachandran through his lawyer whilst serving his prison sentence in US clearly indicates the TYO – LTTE links and its extensions to the CTC.

Immediately after the arrests, the CTC Board met in Toronto decided to disassociate themselves with the LTTE procurement conducted in the US, in order to continue its uninterrupted activities. CTC’s Director of Public Relations David Poopalapillai said that he did not know Sahil Sabaratnam, the CTC Director of Communications.
CTC – LTTE LEADERSHIP LINKS :
Before David Poopalapillai travelled to Canada, he was one of the suspects who reported to have close links with LTTE hierarchy in Wanni. As the current National spokesperson of the CTC, Poopalapillai ensures that LTTE’s interests are met. It is reported that Poopalapillai has visited Malyasia in August 2009 to meet Selvarasa Pathmanathan (K.P.), the successor to LTTE leader Prabhakaran. Wanted by Interpol for his role in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination, K.P. was to meet with Poopalapillai to discuss LTTE – CTC strategy. Today, CTC is guided by both Vishvanathan Rudrakumaran, LTTE Central Committee member, and the LTTE ideologist Father S.J. Emmanuel. Rudrakumaran succeeded K.P. and created Trans national Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE).
CTC – HUMAN SMUGGLING LINKS :
The ongoing investigations reveal the CTC facilitated the multi-million dollar LTTE run human smuggling operations by MV Ocean Lady (76 crew and passengers) and MV Sun Sea (492 crew and passengers). Spearheaded by two former Sea Tigers, Ravishankar Kanagarajah of Canada and Shanmugasundaram Kanthaskaran of the UK, the LTTE also facilitated the passage of over 200 LTTE leaders, members and their families to Canada. The LTTE renamed its arms ship MV Princess Easwary as MV Ocean Lady and purchased MV Harin Panich 19 and renamed it MV Sun Sea. Captained by Kamalraj Kandasamy, who transported tens of thousands of tons of arms, ammunition and explosives on board MV Princess Easwary from North Korea to Sri Lanka from 1997 – 2009, today lives in Canada. With Vinod, the Deputy of Kamal claiming asylum in Norway, MV Sun Sea was captained by Sivagnanam Sivaharan alias Kausi and others who had served on the North Korean voyages smuggling lethal cargo. Further, it is revealed that, not only did CTC provide legal and financial aid to the LTTE crew and passengers but also projected that they were bona fide refugees and not terrorists. As the key LTTE cadres and their families arrived in Vancouver, the very next day Poopalapillai with his team flew to Vancouver to defend the LTTE infiltrators and counter Canadian efforts to develop tough legislation. Gary Anandasangaree of CTC provided legal counsel.
CTC – HUMAN RIGHTS LINKS :
Since its formation, CTC advanced LTTE interests and targeted the Sri Lankan government. Masquerading as a champion of Human Rights, Anandasangaree travels to Geneva annually to target Sri Lanka. Although Anandasangaree portrays himself as a Human Rights champion, it was he who masterminded the CTC campaign to vilify Jo Becker, the Children’s Rights Advocacy Director for the Human Rights Watch (HRW), who exposed LTTE extortion of the Diaspora. To counter the damning report, the CTC organized two university students, a family doctor, a settlement worker, a teacher and a lawyer. At the press conference on March 15, 2006, Shanthela Easwarakumar said “it has deep implications for us. It has exposed us to ridicule and hatred”. Since then the Sri Lankan authorities recovered the LTTE application form of Shanthela Easwarakumar filled with her own handwriting and also admitting to her family financially supporting the LTTE (please see the LTTE Recruitment Form filled by Shanthela).
When questioned that CTC denigrating the HRW report “is a front for LTTE,” Neethan Shan, who had formed the vanguard at LTTE activities in North America, acknowledged “the Congress is supportive of LTTE.”
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL HAS BECOME A LIFE LINE OF CTC
It is poor judgment on the part of AI to get involved with a terrorist front, let alone accept money from it.Writing from a US prison to the Tamil community in August 2011, Sahil Sabaratnam, the former CTC Communication Director said “the mandates and events were well planned by the so-called well-wishers, and persons like me, served as a Communication Director, would be implementing the actions as a result of the campaign being carried out by members other than the registered members of the organization. I am fully aware that the same situation exists in such organizations today”. Confirming LTTE control of CTC, Sahil added “question such indirect or hidden agendas being carried out by LTTE related organizations such as WTM and CTC”. Referring to CTC agenda of supporting LTTE’s terrorist agenda, Sahil said “I solely believe and know for a fact that the so called well-wishers who had always stood behind the CTC are believers of a violent solution”.CTC has spread its tentacles deep into the Canadian and Western corridors of power, Human Rights organizations, and NGOs. The success of the Tamil Tiger terrorist movement was to adapt and evolve keeping its sights firmly set on its terrorist agenda. CTCs links to LTTE are well established. AI would now have a duty of care to further CTCs agenda. For CTC to function it has to keep the LTTE cause alive and AI has become a life line. Analysts believe that AI has been around long enough to know the activities of the Tamil Tiger terrorists and its Canadian arm, the CTC. The financial monitors of Human Rights organizations no doubt will investigate into the ethics of accepting funds from terrorist movements, as it throws AI’s interests in Sri Lanka into serious doubt. Sri Lanka does not need ANY FOREIGN MILITARY BASES on its soil, but Sri Lanka NEEDS the MILITARY BASES of ITS OWN ARMED FORCES THROUGHOUT Sri Lanka, and especially in the North & East the FORMER WAR ZONE INFESTED with SEPARATISTS!

Omanthai check point in northern Sri Lanka removed
Aug 29, Colombo: Sri Lankan military authorities have removed the security check point located at Omanthai in Vavuniya with effect from Saturday, August 29.
The check point, established during the war at Omanthai along the main north-south A9 road, was the main entry/exit point between LTTE controlled areas and Government controlled areas during the war.
After the war ended, the check point remained open with the presence of Army soldiers checking vehicles. Even late as last year the military authorities on the instructions of the government barred foreign nationals visiting the north beyond the check point without prior permission.
As of Saturday, the checkpoint is now open for free passage for anyone, a government official said.

Golden opportunity for Tamil refugees to return
Aug 30 (Hindu) Given the prevailing political situation in Sri Lanka, the time has come for Sri Lankan Tamil refugees in Tamil Nadu to return home, said S. C. Chandrahasan, founder of the Organisation for Eelam Refugees Rehabilitation (OfERR).
“It is a golden opportunity for the refugees to return home especially when there is an effort to form a national government in Sri Lanka. The time has come to reap the benefits of our blood-stained struggle,” he told The Hindu here on Monday.
Tamil Nadu is home to more than one hundred thousand Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka, with over 60,000 of them residing in a hundred camps spread across the State.
Asked whether the refugees were ready for return, Mr. Chandrahasan said though they had some reservations, assistance from the governments of Tamil Nadu and India to start their life in Sri Lanka would convince them to return to their homeland.
“The Tamil Nadu government is already rendering a lot of help. They can continue to provide support at least for one year till our people find their feet in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Chandrahasan said. OfERR had already held 17 rounds of talks with the refugees before presenting their case to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and officials of the ministry about the return of the refugees. The Sri Lankan government also was very keen on their return as 3,800 graduates among the refugees would be of great resource for the country.
Mr. Chandrahasan said already over 10,000 people had returned to Sri Lankan on their own. However, politically too, their return was very important to the Tamil community. “We have lost two MPs in the Northern Provinces because of lack of Tamil population. Our return also will make up for the loss,” he said. Noting that the present dispensation in the island nation had the support of former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga, he said the Special Presidential Commission that she heads on finding a solution to the problems of the Tamil community was a ray of hope. Mr. Chandrahasan said though he had plans to enter politics he was delaying it for the sake of the refugees.

President calls for a meeting with UPFA party leaders tomorrow
Aug 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena has invited the leaders of the parties in the defeated United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) for a meeting Monday.
According to the leader of the UPFA constituent party National Freedom Front (NFF) MP Wimal Weerawansa the meeting will take place at the President’s official residence tomorrow morning.
He said he will be attending the meeting to express his views on several issues including his opposition to a national government between the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

We all know, including these bloody traitors, they were brought to our country by the dutch buggers (to work in tobacco farms in jaffna), by the brits to work in tea plantations and the rest are kallathonis who came in the 60s to save their lives from the severe famine in tn.
There are evidence everywhere nobody of them wants to admit. Their ancient kingdoms exist only in books and www as no one has ever seen a brick from these buildings. Then the so called natives of jaffna been living their for only a few hundred years as it has been proven that the oldest building in jaffna is the old dutch fort. Simply they do not have a ancient brick to show to have any claim to our land.
We have given more than they deserve. These ungrateful xxxx own almost all of Colombo. They own most of the successful businesses in the country. Still ungrateful xxxx not happy. With your xxxtlam, are you prepared to leave Colombo? No chance of that? Is there? That’s how these ungrateful xxxx attitude.
Never happy, never grateful, never enough! That’s what these ungrateful xxxx are! Just one look at asambandan boruwa’s wretched face says it all. Seeting with hatred in all these guys faces show. From what we hear, the UPFA was told that the National List #2 which is being challenged in Courts was issued by CBK! This per Pres. Sirisena who is passing the buck as he has been wont to do, to the puppeteers…sometimes RW to whom he is obligated since recent times, and sometimes to CBK to whom he is obligated from several years past. And maybe there are other puppeteers from across the seas….
How can we have this kind of WEAK leadership and the resultant mayhem go unchallenged?

I like many Sinhalese believed the stories against MR peddled during the Presidential Election about Lamborghini’s, Aston Martins, Golden Horses and Presidential palaces fronted through Chinese money ascertained via bogus/inflated infrastructure projects. I fell completely for the vicious propaganda and defamation campaign against MR. Then to my horror did i not only find out all these to be complete LIES, i discovered here on LankaWeb that Lorzenso was one of the architects and authors of all these lies which he himself was BOASTING about accomplishing on Lankaweb.
I argued with so many people (friends/family) and turned some against MR. Now they blast me with hate (rightfully so) for my betrayal all because i believed the lies peddled by Lorenzo’s propaganda team which worked over time against MR.
Now the nation has been thrown into a dangerous precipice and I (and many others who got conned) are to blame. I cannot shed the sense of horror as to how easily i was fooled.
So when i see Lorenzo come here and bark while pretending to wave the flag it fills me with vomit.
It should also be noted how over the last two years here at LankaWeb he cemented anti-MR sentiment slowly and carefully, dropping various stories and complaints. Powerful psy-ops. In fact when the “bring back Mahinda” campaign started in February-March 2015 he was busily trying to demoralise people saying how MR will never win, how MR is not interested in Politics anymore, and how Gobasena will never appoint MR as PM so don’t bother voting for MR. He even said even if MR did win Gobasena will dissolve Parliament in a year again making MRs potential victory now pointless -ignoring the OBVIOUS fact of the effects of the 19A (the contents of which Lorenzo was well versed in).
He now cries about the 13 A. Yet he avoids the OBVIOUS: Did he care for the scrapping of the 13A when he openly campaigned for My3/Ranil/CBK/UNP/TNA/Tamil racism and spread lies against MR to get MR ousted from power. Was he thinking about the 13A then?

Sri Lanka’s Northern Provincial Council unanimously calls for an international tribunal
Sept 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s Tamil-controlled Northern Provincial Council (NPC) today unanimously called for an international probe into the alleged war crimes committed towards the end of the war with the LTTE.
The Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council C.V. Wigneswaran on Tuesday passed a resolution rejecting the domestic process being proposed by the United States and other members of the international community.
While acknowledging the “long standing efforts” of the United States and India along with the international community in securing justice, the NPC dismissed a domestic mechanism backed by the U.S. as Sri Lanka has had a “long and blighted history of human rights violations’ which according to the NPC amounts to genocide.
In this context, the NPC, which is controlled by the main Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA), said in its resolution that the trial of the alleged perpetrators should not take place through any mechanism instituted by the Sri Lankan Government as a State also incurs responsibility for the acts of its agents.
“Under these circumstances, the trial of the perpetrators of international crimes by a domestic mechanism would be a travesty of justice as it would amount to the potentially guilty Government trying its own agents, thereby violating the prohibition in the maxim nemo iudex in sua causa,” the resolution said.
The NPC resolution alleged that there is well-recorded prejudice among members of the Judiciary against the minorities and emphasized that Sri Lanka’s descent into grave human, political and social rights’ violations was precipitated and reinforced by the failure of key pillars of State.
“The prolonged decline in the political culture and political will of the State and the failure of key institutions of Justice, law and order, i.e. Judiciary, police and the armed forces, ensured that impunity became the new norm in Sri Lanka. The Tamil community bore the full brunt of this new norm at all levels of its existence,” it said.
“For these reasons, the Council calls upon the International community to set up an international tribunal to try those alleged to have committed international crimes against the Tamil People in Sri Lanka,” the NPC said.
“We urge the new leaders of the Sri Lankan government to be courageous enough to work with the International community to set up a credible international mechanism which will deliver justice and put this nation on a path of meaningful reconciliation.”
The United States last week confirmed that it will sponsor a resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva later this month supporting the Sri Lankan government to conduct its own domestic probe into the alleged war crimes committed during the war with the LTTE.
The Tamil party has earlier rejected a domestic probe into the alleged war crimes saying that they have no faith in government mechanisms despite assurances given by the government that the domestic probe will meet international standards.
The Northern Provincial Council said it awaits the report of the OISL of the United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights to be released this month which is due to identify the nature of the crimes committed and possibly, the alleged perpetrators.
