News – reporting by BBC and other Radio and Television channels

Dear Sir
In your capacity as a media scribe I thought you might be interested in at least noting alternate points of view and be prepared to stomach opinions different to what you fancy.
Large numbers of people particularly in non – European countries tolerate BBC reports and views which are largely euro-centric, pro- christian and unsympathetic to struggles of Asian and African peoples to de-colonise their societies and more importantly their minds.
These peoples find themselves force – fed with news and views day after day by powerful news media such as BBC and CNN which defend largely the interests and thinking of the policy makers of the Christian West, the Al – Jazeera which performs a similar service for the Islamic world while the voice of the Buddhists and Hindus remain largely unheard in the international arena due to lack of equivalent Broadcasting institutions.
It is the notable absence or relative silence of the Buddhist point of view ( almost all mainstream English language newspapers in Asia have Christian Editors or are in the pay of pro – West NGOs) that have spurred people like us to take up the challenge to give voice to Buddhist concerns, however enfeebled.
We have nothing against you personally and really wish you well in your life.
But until the inequities in the World Information Order are addressed and corrected we of the Buddhist world will have no choice but to use emails and web sites with limited scope to articulate the Buddhist point of view which are usually suppressed by the mainstream english language news papers both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
I will remove your name and email address from my list of email addresses at your request.
However I am copying this post to a few others who have an interest in the subject matter and are entitled to know why we are championing alternate points of view.

Lot of my family and friends in the West, do not watch any mainstream TV channels. They are the voice boxes of the Christians and/or war mongering multi-national corporations. The NGOs are selling misery through TV and begging money usually $2 or $3 per month (from the viewing public) to eradicate poverty, to help out victims of war etc. etc.. To start with if they didn’t bomb the countries in their crusade to give democracy there won’t be any victims.

HAVE THE SRI LANKAN MEDIA NOW SILENCED BY THE GOVERNING MONARCHS OF THE COUNTRY ?
THERE WERE NO DETAILS OF THE PSD DEFENDER ACCIDENT IN MINUVANGODA < WHY ???
IN ONE PAPER IT WAS SAID THAT THE PSD PERSONELL WERE GOING FOR A FUNERAL.
IT WAS SHOCKING TO WATCH THE CCTV FOOTAGE OF THE ACCIDENT. THE DEFENDER DRIVER DROVE SO FAST, TRYING TO BEAT THE ONCOMING BUS, AND THEY WENT INTO PIECES.
ALL PSD PERSONELL, THIS GOVERNMENT AND PAST GOVERNMENT, THINK **THEY ARE IT**AND SHOW OFF THAT THEY ARE **PRESIDENTS** PERSONAL HENCHAIYAS. THESE DEATHS WERE DUE TO ARROGANCE AND ABSOLUTE CARELESSNESS OF THE DRIVER OF THE DEFENDER. THERE IS NO LAW FOR THEM. IT IS PRESIDENTS LAW.
IT WAS NEVER REPORTED UPTO NOW WHETHER THEY WERE GOING ON AN OFFICIAL TRIP FOR A FUNERAL, OR WHETHER THEY WERE USING A GOVERNMENT VEHICLE TO GO ON A PERSONAL TRIP.
THE MEDIA IS SHITTING IN THEIR PANTS TO REPORT SUCH DETAILS. WHY ? BECAUSE THEY THE MEDIA HAVE BEEN THREATENED AND INTIMIDATED BY THE PRESIDENT AND PRIME MINISTER.
GOOD LUCK TO THE ARROGANT. THEY HAVE REALLY PUT THE MEDIA INTO SLUMBER. SLEEP WELL MEDIA!!!!!!

TV channels like the BBC, CNN, AlJazeera etc are propaganda machines to protect mainly Western interests. If you watch the Russian TV channel RT, you might get the other side of the story, concealed from us by Western media. Most people in the Western nations are also good human beings, but unfortunately they are misled by unethical media bosses trying to please their respective governments. Unfortunately, this seems to be happening in Sri Lanka too.

Media products are for the consumers. What is sold depends on the consumers and producers. BBC is the propaganda Machine for the West and Indians. There are a lot of Indians world wide who listen to BBC.
