I think we should work out who are Sinhalese? It is not just Buddhists who are Sinhalese. That is what Indian imperialists have brainwashed us to believe so we will fight among ourselves and the Sinhalese become weaker.

Nobody can stop the Sinhale Flag being displayed. It is the oldest National Flag in the world. Even in the United Kingdom they have separate flags for the different regions – St Georges Cross for England and St Andrew Cross for Scotland etc. On occasions when depicting England, the English are proud to display the St Georges Flag. Similarly there shouldn’t be any legal means to stop the Sinhale Flag being displayed and carried in demonstrations and processions.
It is the Flag of the Sinhalese that agreed to take on two stripes to represent the minority Tamils and Muslims which should not have happened in the first place. Sri Lanka is one nation and that is Sinhale now fraudulently called Sri Lanka. It is Sinhale that lost her independence in 1815 and it should have been Sinhale that was restored to nationhood in 1948.
Let bygones be bygones, but let no one stop the Sinhalese carry their flag. This is the very same flag that King Dutu Gamunu carried to war against Elara over 2000 years ago.
How far can the Sinhalese tolerate these inequities and flagrant violations of their rights?
I too wish I was there. I am going to have a ”Sinha Le” tattoo when I go on vacation next time. That is our birth right !
Christie, there’s nothing to worry. Sinhala Catholics/Christians too had Buddhist ancestors. Buddhists have nothing against Catholic/Christian Singhalese, but against the church, the vatican and the Christian West.
4-Hella groups who were named as Siwu-Hela and gradualluy it was ended up by calling them as Sinhala are the people who lived in this land before it was invaded by the people from other countries. Those original people have their own dignity and the identity of being the first humans in this land, Sri Lanka. Today they are fighting to regain their rights back as it’s being threaten.
It doesn’t mean they hate other ethnic groups like Muslims and Tamils who live in this country. They live with all Sri Lankans in peace and harmony. Therefore no one can say Sinhalese are racist.
Let the SINHALA flag flutter all around SRILANKA.This is our land Sinhala land where we allowed Tamils and Muslims and other minorities to live with us harmoniously but if others trying to dictate us they are really foolish. Srilanka is a great country.We got rid of terrorism single handedly without any outside help except buy arms from friendly countries. We don’t need foreign advisors for anthing.we have our own sons and daughters who are capable and intelligent to do anything.If Mahinda did with our own why cant these two hopper thieves cannot do? These two lover boys are controlled by foreign mafia Americans, Europeans and Indian beggars. We cannot go on like this .Sinhalese must get united and send these foreign backed Govt packing so let’s join SINHA LE.

– Not a very good idea to keep saying. “Different Regions” is the worst idea giving rise to Federlism – that is what Ranil and the Hopper Man love. Then the North will ask for Jaffna kingdom flag.
Whole of Sinhale flag can be designed with Loin on one side and the Buddhist colours replacing the stipes with current colours. Then it will be Sinhala Buddhist flag.
