Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday informed Parliament that he was unaware of any institution named the Task Force for National Reconciliation.
He made these remarks while responding to…… a question raised by National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader Wimal Weerawansa, who inquired as to whether an institution by the name of Task Force for National Reconciliation had been established with former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga as its head. “I am not aware of such an institute. You say that former President Kumaratunga is the head of this institute; why don’t you give her a call and ask her yourself. After all, she is your old friend. Can’t you remember you joined her to form a government sometime back? If you cannot ask her, I will ask her on your behalf,” the Prime Minister quipped.
The NFF leader retorted that he expected a responsible answer from the Prime Minister as he had raised a serious question.
“I posed a question and demand a responsible response. This is not a comedy act. You say that I’m a friend of Chandrika Kumaratunga but our friendship has expired now. You are her new friend. There were media reports that Chandrika Kumaratunga was heading such a task force. Were those reports untrue?” MP Weerawansa said.
Prime Minister: “Chandrika and I have been good friends since childhood. We went to the same dance class and learnt dancing together. I have not seen any media reports of that nature. My question is whether MP Weerawansa is against reconciliation?”
MP Weerawansa: “There is no point in the Prime Minister questioning me. It is the role of the Opposition to question the government and ministers and you must answer. It seems you have confused our roles.”
Prime Minister: “It was former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who agreed with Ban Ki-moon to set up a war crimes tribunal and you supported it. You all opposed it when you got cold feet at the realization that you too would be hauled up before such a tribunal. That is the true story. You are against promoting reconciliation.”
MP Weerawansa: “It was former President Rajapaksa who brought about reconciliation by ending the war. His government never agreed with anyone to establish a war crimes tribunal.
Prime Minister: “Former President Rajapaksa intended to set up a war crimes Court using military personnel but that plan ended when President Maithripala Sirisena came to power. We are all for reconciliation while you are against it. That is the reality of the situation here.”
MP Weerawanas: “Yes, yes. Anyone can understand that situation and the nature of the reconciliation you all expecting to usher in. We can experience the effects of your so-called peace and reconciliation when Sinhala students in the Jaffna University are being assaulted and chased away. There is no point asking questions from a Prime Minister such as you. Nowhere in the world can we find a Prime Minister like you!”

Reconciliation takes two willing parties committed to a single goal.
What is going on now is NOT RECONCILIATION but APPEASEMENT of separatists helping them to achieve their separatist goals.
In fact, there is NOTHING that the GOSL and the Sinhala community has done to the Tamil Community that requires an apology.
On the contrary, it is the Tamil Community and their “boys” they supported to the hilt that sowed 30 years of murder and mayhem in Sri Lanka.
Now, those very same supporters of Tamil Terrorism and pitiless murderers are wailing like innocent victims demanding an apartheid Tamils-only state they failed to win in unremitting murderous war.
Instead of FAKE “RECONCILIATION” with these unrepentant murderers and traitors, there should be DRACONIAN PUNISHMENT meted out to them, and REPEALING of the 13th Amendment, and DISMANTLING of the Provincial Council System.
The Tamil People are UNWILLING and will NEVER BE READY to live as equal citizens in one country. Giving them the power to administer the North is a PRESCRIPTION for the EVENTUAL DISINTEGRATION of Sri Lanka.
Even now, they are using every opportunity to establish independent links with foreign countries to that end, and using allegations of War Crimes and demands for Reconciliation to cement their grasp and GE. T ready for eventual secession.
Every day there is some Foreign Ambassador from UK, USA, India, Norway, Canada and even Japan, Australia and New Zealand, or the UN, the World Bank, the EU, or the IMF reporting on Reconciliation in Sri zlanka and piously pressuring the GOSL for MORE RECONCILIATION. In reality, the term RECONCILIATION has now become a pseudonym for AUTONOMY! The end result of this will be the DISINTEGRATION of Sri Lanka into a collection of apartheid ethnic Bantustans.
The recent attack on Sinhala sstudents attending the Jaffna Campus of the University of Sri Lanka is more proof of that duplicitous mindset, in which they enjoy everything in the rest of Sri zlanka equally, but wants to keep all resources in the North for Tamils only. They say, what is in the North is SOLRLY ours, but what is in the rest of Sri Lanka is for all to SHARE.
These kinds of DOUBLE STANDARDS and HYPOCRISY must be ENDED NOW by demolishing the VERY NOTION of Provincial
governments before it is TOO LATE!
That PROCESS of consolidating the REUNIFICATION of our Motherland can begin only when a PATRIOTIC GOVERNMENT is RESTORED!
It CANNOT BE DONE with the Yamapalanaya TRAITORS currently in power. Every day, in every way, our motherland is being SYSTEMATICALLY DISMANTLED.

Sri Lanka should tell the US that Sri Lanka cannot abide by the UNHRC resolution. The Sri Lankan Army did not commit any war crimes. It is the LTTE terrorists who committed war crimes throughout 26 years of war. No country with an ounce of self respect will place their army in harms way to be tried by a court domestic or hybrid of war crimes the army did not commit in anyway. If individual soldiers committed any crimes, a complaint can be placed in a court of law in Sri Lanka. Why is there a need for special judicial procedures? This government is a puppet of the US, EU, UK, Norway, Sweden, Canada and India and is so subservient to US interests that it is ready to try its own armed forces for crimes that the armed forces did not commit. All the while, the LTTE terrorists who committed war crimes are being shown as totally innocent. Using the ploy of wanting a new constitution which almost all Sri Lankans don’t want, this treacherous government is trying to create a separate state in the guise of a federal state as the TNA separatist terrorists and the US, EU, UK, Norway, Sweden, Canada and India wants. Sri Lanka should tell the US that Sri Lanka cannot abide by the UNHRC resolution. The worst that the US, UK, EU, Sweden, Norway and India can do is impose sanctions on Sri Lanka. So what? Sri Lanka can trade with all the countries of Asia and the rest of the world even if the US, UK, EU, Norway, Sweden and India imposes sanctions. Sri Lanka can grow rice, we have jack fruit, bananas, bread fruit and plenty of water too. So we will not starve just because the US, UK, EU, Sweden, Norway and India imposes sanctions. Also since we can trade with the powerful economies of Asia which includes the Middle East, South East Asia, South Asia, the Far East and Central Asia as well as the rest of the world, actually, we may be OK economically too despite any sanctions imposed by the US, EU, UK, Norway, Sweden, Canada and India. However by avoiding implementing the unjust UNHRC resolution, Sri Lanka will safeguard its independence and freedom which is the most important thing for the next thousands of years as we have safeguarded our independence and freedom for at least the last 2600 years and avoid the creation of a separate state or eelam in the guise of a federal state. So Sri Lanka must very urgently tell the US that we will not abide by the unjust UNHRC resolution but carry out our own domestic process of reconciliation as we see fit. Let the imperialist US impose sanctions. Nothing much will happen to our economy since we can trade with the powerful economies of Asia and the rest of the world instead but Sri Lanka would have preserved its independence and freedom for the next thousands of years and avoid the partition of the country and the creation of a separate state which will be Sri Lanka’s end.

Even if the constitution will be changed since this idiotic government follows whatever instructions the US, UK, EU, Norway, Canada, Sweden, India, the TNA and the separatist terrorists tell it to do, we must ensure that the unitary status of the country is not compromised in any way whatsoever. The clause in the 13th amendment which says that ‘the North and the East is the homeland of the Tamil speaking people’ must be deleted since it is totally false when looking at the history of the island. This clause must be replaced with the clause ‘the entire island is the homeland of all its peoples’. The provision which allows for the merger between two provinces should be deleted. As much subjects from the concurrent list should be included in the national list. Under no circumstances should land, police or fiscal powers be given to provincial councils. All of us need to ensure that the above happens since if the system reverts back to a parliamentary system and the presidential system is scrapped, the only way to ensure the unitary status of the country is the make sure that the provincial councils do not get any more powers than they have at present. The Public Security Ordinance should not be amended in anyway as well. If any provincial councils acts out of line, the head of government should dissolved such a provincial council and direct rule by the head of government should be enforced under those circumstances.
