Indian invasion and colonization of Sri Lanka – A concern for all Sri Lankans
Posted on August 30th, 2016

If we cant handle errant Indian fishermen stealing our fish, poaching on our waters, ruining our marine bed ….. Do you seriously think our policy makers can handle a country with 1.3billion people

This is an agreement that will affect all Sri Lankans – Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burghers…

It is one thing to do business with another country.

It is a totally different thing if a country allows open visa to a country that has a population of 1.3billion and 80% of its population are illiterate and millions and millions are jobless.

With the road and rail bridge also opening up and 76million Tamil Nadu Tamils free to arrive when earlier they had been arriving as illegal immigrants, just imagine the status quo when the GOSL officially agrees to allow Indians to start up business, bring in their families to live and work in Sri Lanka, bring laborers from India….how will this affect Sri Lanka long term?

Will Sri Lankans get jobs?

Will Sri Lankans have land or will that too be purchased by Indians now that the GOSL has removed the restrictions on land purchase to foreigners.

Will Sri Lanka have enough resources to meet electricity, water and other requirements?

Will Sri Lanka have its sovereignty when Indians politicians will exert power over and influence Sri Lanka’s politicians because a growing number of Indians will be living in Sri Lanka.

These are issues that Sri Lankans need to seriously think about.

If we cant handle errant Indian fishermen stealing our fish, poaching on our waters, ruining our marine bed….do you seriously think our policy makers can handle a country with 1.3billion people?

Your job, your business, your children’s future, your future will all get affected.

We all must have a nation to call our own ETCA will deny us this right.

Excellent speeches by all the speakers. Well worth listening to, especially by our politicians if they wish to learn something. Regarding the danger of Indian invasions please see the article below for further clarification.

India has over 400 million poor people and over 40 million people in India are unemployed. If this ETCA is signed and the Hanuman bridge is built all these desperate people in India will come in droves to Sri Lanka since the socio-economic situation of Sri Lanka is a million times better than the socio economic situation of India. I would urge the uncaring and cruel Indian government to provide basic housing, clean water, sanitation, healthcare, education, food and clothing to these desperately poor 400 million Indians rather than spending US 5.2 billion dollars in building a Hanuman bridge to Sri Lanka. If Sri Lanka signs this ETCA with India it will be Sri Lanka’s end. Sri Lanka should not sign any such trade deals where people can come here to work freely, unless the country we are signing the ETCA with has a similar or a better socio-economic situation than Sri Lanka. I would urge the uncaring, corrupt and cruel India Government to immediately stop building space stations and nuclear weapons and use that money to provide basic housing, clean water, sanitation, healthcare, education, food and clothing to the 400 million desperately poor people of India which is a government’s basic responsibility. Sri Lanka should stop immediately the signing of ETCA with India and urge the Indian Government to carry out the above task rather than serving the rich people of India only which the uncaring and cruel Indian Government seems to be doing.

Strangle the Hanumans who proposed the Hanuman Bridge.iTS SEEMS LIKE SELF INFLICTED SUICIDE!
Ranil W is the chief instigator it appears.
A brainless moron who got away with murder at Batalande who through his bungling mentality could easily compromise Sri Lanka’s Sovereignity and Territorial integrity and put the Nation at Risk!
The closer Sri Lanka gets to China and shares amicable exchanges and closer ties with China, Pakistan and other Sri Lanka friendly nations as deterrents to India’s ambitions about annexing Sri Lanka ,the safety of all Sri Lankas would be assured.DE ACTIVATE THE SIRIMA- SHASTRI PACT AND REPATRIATE ALL INDIANS (Non Lankan citizens) WHO ARE LITERALLY ILLEGALS BACK TO INDIA.

  4. S.Gonsal Says:

    Sunil,
Yes. This Indian Poison is gradually killing us. As you said even Sirima – Shastri pact gave us a useless island in place of thousands of Kallthonis.
All our politicians did this sucking up to Indians for a long time.

You said “Strangle the Hanumans who proposed the Hanuman Bridge” , but reading news yesterday, it seems it was Wimal Weerawansa who suggested this idea first in a published document.

The bridge connecting Sri Lanka and India was a proposal by the previous government in 2011, UNP MP Edward Gunasekara said.

He was addressing a press conference at the UNP headquarters – Sirikotha – yesterday. He said the two MPs who vociferously criticise the bridge had been instrumental in making the said plan.

“In 2011, the National Physical Planning Department which was then coming under Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa produced a ‘National Physical Planning Policy and Plan’. The bridge between India and Sri Lanka had been a project proposed in it. MPs Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila who criticise it now had played a role in making it,” he said.

The MP said the proposed project includes a railroad and expressway linking Sri Lanka to India. “The plan made for 2011-2030 has proposals to link Sri Lanka with the South Asian mainland by road and rail and thereby to connect Sri Lanka with the Asian Highway and Trans-Asian Railway. These roads extend to Trincomalee and even to Hambantota. The implementing agencies of the proposed project was the BOI and Highways Ministry,” the MP explained.

“Some individuals vehemently criticise our government’s relations with India. We do not do anything harmful to the country. Our policy is that we should link with the world to achieve the goals of the country. Our government still has no specific plan to build a bridge between Sri Lanka and India. It was their own proposal,” he said.
