   Those who betray the land thrice blessed and anointed by the Lord Buddha himself to be the haven of the Sinhela people, should indeed be aware that they have significantly shortened their lives.

   Believing that “anunta karana apala thamanta paladenawa,” we Buddhists avoid adarmishta acts, a dictum that Sirisena has clearly violated.

   In my view, like King Kashyapa who feared divine retribution, Palwatte Gamaralage Maithripala Yapa Sirisena has good reason to shiver in his sandals!

   One more thing,

   It irks me that most Sinhala Buddhist leaders, like the esteemed Sirisena, run to assorted poosaris and kapuwas, ignorantly throwing away the teachings of the Lord Buddha, every time they fear a future illness or disaster of some kind.

   Why is that? Is their belief in Buddhism so shallow and superficial that they turn to idolatry abandoning the Buddhist teaching that only we can save ourselves, and no appeal to any imagined diety for intervention on our behalf can alter that fate?

   Sri Lanka’s history abounds with harrowing tales of kings who punished the Buddhist clergy who refused to waive these immutable beliefs of the Buddhist faith. These kings then granted favors to the wily poosaris who promised divine help only if various royal favors are granted to their community in return, a pillar that supports most god-based religions.

   Is that not how the last kings of Kandy happened to come from Hindu South Indian stock?

   Are we witnessing yet another Buddhist leader relapsing into the dark arts of superstition and God worship in his desperation to escape karmic retribution?

   In this presumably modern enlightened age are we still in thrall to superstition, and just as intellectually backward as those kings of old?

   Has nothing changed over the millenia, that our people still run to kapuwas, abjectly subject themselves to Christian confessions to gain forgiveness for their sins, and make offerings to multi-armed and elephant-headed gods, and even to stone penises bathed in milk?

   And all this, when in Buddhism we have an enlightened teaching devoid of all of these absurdities?

   Ananda USA,
   Every so called “Ranaviru” generals ( with the exception of Fonseka ) check their horoscopes regularly and go for private “Seth Shanthi”, Bodhi Puja. Fonseka has no religion.
   All the same. Only those poor kids died for the country for these big guns to live comfortably.

   Hope we see Jaathi dhrohee maru (hora) sira’s demise soon. His legacy will be destroying
   a country which was prospering under MR after 30 years of destruction of Sinhalese race, Sri Lanka and
   Buddhism by the catholic run UNPatriotic party with the catholic tigers of tamil drealam. Hope traitors of this
   caliber will never reborn in our country.
