During the last 18 months there was a bruising and hard fought contest between Hillary Clinton (HC) and Donald Trump (DT) for the post of US President. Apart from the US, the whole world eagerly watched the outcome as the US President is supposed to occupy the most powerful seat in world politics . According to the US media and polls, the favourite was HC. The results of the 3 debates were also in her favour. Political analysts as well predicted a win for HC. This was probably because DT appears to be an unusual character. Some claimed him to be an eccentric as he is outspoken.
But when election results trickled, pollsters were dismayed. Their predictions had gone awry. In a historic victory, DT had become President elect. This is remarkable because he has no political experience, whereas HC had been in politics for nearly 30 years.The people who were disillusioned with main stream politics supported DT. Further, HC had been The US Secretary of State supporting some of Obama’s unpopular policies. DT in his election campaign had repeatedly said that under him the US will not be the policeman of the world. Hope he stick to this. Because the US created unnecessary problems in the world by pursuing this role.
Back in Sri Lanka, some Tamils led by NPC council members Sivalingam and Ananthi Sasitharan had offered prayers at a famous Hindu Temple in the North for HC’s victory and broken 1008 coconuts. Obviously, they have been backed by the Tamil diaspora. During the 2008 Presidential elections the LTTE rump funded HC. During the war, she blocked the IMF agreed assistance to Sri Lanka. After the war, she visited the Chief Minister of Nadu to show her solidarity with the Tamil diaspora. So it is a big relief that Hilary Clinton got defeated and Donald Trump became President elect.

It is clear now the American Media led by the CNN have their own agenda and did not present the majority view of the people. They promoted Hilary Clinton even though she was a very crooked and vicious politician. She had a hand in the destruction of Libya and Syria and the creation of ISIS. I hope Donald Trump will stick to his policy of making America great again and not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and destroying them like Hilary did for a few LTTE dollars.

LTTE supporters must be upset they wasted their money on crooked Hilary. Now Sivalingam and Sasistharan can brake some coconuts on their racist heads. Now Indian Modi, Chandrika modi and Ranil will get no help from the Americans to prevent a Rajapaksa come back. Appa Sira does not have to be scared of the Modis and Ranil any more. We all know Sira went to India recently get Emperor Modi’s advice on what to do with Ranil. Now Sira can kick Ranil out of the parliament without any fear. Putin is the regime change expert now and will help Sri Lanka.

Hilary was made over confident by CNN and other unabated media hullabaloo by the press in the USA by mud slinging campaign against Donald Trump. Finally, (coconut) ‘Breaking News’ gave the true results of the Election.

Kudos to DT defeating the HC who supported the LTTE & Diaspora. When fools do something you can excuse them ,that’s their brain power but some of our Sinhalese politicos break the same copying these Tamils , I saw the Jayasuriya, BAR president & its members do the same,what can we say about our politics & country law?

In the Model Democracy of the USA, Democrats are protesting and rioting in the streets of major cities against Donald Trump’s election in an orderly and perfectly legal election.
Amazing how undemocratic these quintessential Democrats can be when their ox is gored!
I didn’t see any such protest’s by Republicans when Obama was elected (twice!) In succession.
Perhaps, SL should send a TEAM of our experts to the US Govt to teach the US how to “enhance democracy” in the USA!
