The traffic jam in Dehiwela and Wellawathe is killing to say the least, specially after 5 pm. As the Galle road traffic moves practically at snail pace, many take the marine drive and join the Galle road through Frazer avenue. In spite of a traffic police man being present at this junction, still vehicles are allowed to come down from Galle road towards Ramanathan avenue  through Frazer avenue causing the traffic to come up in single lane whereas they can join the Galle road in two lanes.

Why, O, why cannot common sense prevail and make this one way at least after 5 pm at peak hours? Those who want to reach Ramanathan avenue or Frazer avenue form Galle Road can always come through any of the other side roads connecting Galle road and Ramanathan avenue.

Traffic cops make any lane one way at their own whims and fancies without any study or trials but when it comes to the obvious they totally seems oblivious to the easiest  routes.

Hope some intelligent  person from the traffic department will  take care of traffic flows in Wellawathe and Dehiwela.
