   Ranil and the Church know the entire Buddhist community are against these. That is exactly why they are doing it. They want all Buddhists to rise up so that they could bring Emergency laws and do more harm to us. The photo remind me of the Vietnamese Buddhist monk who set himself alite which started the end of American / CIA experiment in that country.

   Where the HxxL is the President / the Commander-In-Chief / the Idiot / the Rookadaya. I know before 8th Jan 2015 he was a Buddhist, so were Ranawaka, and the JHU. Now they must be Born Agains.

   Does anyone think the policeman behind the raised hand is a Buddhist? For a long time the Police Force in Sri Lanka is stacked with Non Buddhists. This is why you see on many occasions Police brutality against Buddhists, Buddhists Monks and Buddhist places of worship.

   Aappaya does not see these things because he is one who is pretending to sleep and as such cannot be woken up easily to see these atrocities.

   May him and his supporters, kith and kin perish!

   Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to the United States Jaliya Wickramasooriya has been arrested and remanded for allegedly taking a 245,000 USD commission in the purchase of a new Sri Lanka Embassy building in Washington DC. He is now awaiting trial in Sri Lanka.

   I know Jaliya Wickramasooroya by reputation only, but I supported the SL Embassy in the war effort during his tenure. Reputedly, he worked hard during the war years to gain support for Sri Lanka, and also was effective in promoting Sri Lankan-American business connections.

   He is a cousin of MR, studied at Nalanda College, was a tea taster for a reputable Sri Lankan tea company for over a decade. Then he was the CEO and Managing Director of another company in Sri Lanka, after which he moved to Los Angeles and started his own business marketing Sri Lanka tea. After MR became President, he was appointed Sri Lanka’s Consul General in LA for about 3 years, and then was promoted to Ambassador until the MR/UPFA GOSL fell in 2015. Much of this I learned on the Web.

   During his tenure as Consul General and Ambassador, he was praised for his efforts on behalf of Sri Lanka, but he was also criticized for not being fluent in English, not being a polished speaker and, therefore, a poor fit for the job of Ambassador to the US. I would say, the same can be said of Sirisena, who is not a “Colombian”.

   Yesterday, I did a Google Search on him, and was astonished to find various people accusing him of a litany of corrupt practices, mostly to enrich himself. Most of these accusations are of recent vintage, and one website ….. LankaeNews ….. was particularly aggressive in accusing him of all kinds of misdemeanors.

   While I am willing to accept that we must have as our Ambassador to Washington a smart person who can fluently and elegantly communicate on international diplomacy in English, knowing how the recent Regime Change was executed by demonizing leaders far more able and effective than the current “paragathi” Yamapalanaya Kalliya, I am inclined to believe that these accusations are more of the same fake unprovable accusations that brought the MR/UPFA GOSL down, and is being used to witch-hunt those leaders even today.

   Do any other LankaWeb readers have first-hand information on Jaliya Wickramasooriya that can either confirm or refute the allegations being made against him?

   When I read these awful stories, I wonder why on earth any decent educated and honest man would want to come forward to engage in Sri Lankan politics, and defend and protect his Motherland! You really have to be either suicidal, or scheduled to die of cancer in a few months!

   IF the govt. did another RATHUPASWALA then it will be VERY UNPOPULAR. But so far the govt. DID NOT do it. Very clever.

   According to TOP SECRET govt. internal sources the next president is going to be culvert mouth RAJITHA.

   He has MOST UNP and SLFP support, JVP support, TNA support, CWC and SLMC support. IF Sira dies in 2 weeks expect PRESIDENT RAJITHA! And expect absolute hell on his rivals. PRRA activists are already at work. Some of them are Tamils.
