Hanbantota Port and it’s industrial zone should not be sold or given on very long leases to foreign powers, but should be managed by the GOSL for the benefit of its citizens.
The management of the port should be in Sri Lankan hands, but it’s facilities can be leased to interested parties requiring that they employ Sri Lankan citizens for most of the work.
With great effort and high hopes of generating an large income to the country we have built this port, not to be sold off or leased for very long periods to foreign powers!
The Yamapalanaya wants to sell every valuable national asset Sri Lanka has to finance their SUVs, elections and bribes!
