Terror in London

Our hearts go out to the victims of the terrorist attack at Parliament Square in London today.

However, I cannot but recall how on this same Square in June 2009, I witnessed a vociferous group of supporters of Prabakaran, the leader of the brutal Tamil Tigers who had terrorized Sri Lanka for three decades, who had been deposed a few weeks earlier, chanting loudly ” Who is our leader … Prabakaran, , What do we want …Tamil Elam”. When I questioned a nearby Policeman why this was being permitted, ” it is part of freedom of speech”, was the response, oblivious to it’s hurt for  Tiger Terror’s victims and potential victims.

A year later , at the same square, then a hot bed for dissident and anarchist protestors , was a placard displaying prominently the slogan , “In Sri Lanka, what was once a concentration camp ,is now an extermination camp”, casting a baseless slur on the camps that housed 300,000 Tamil hostages rescued from the Tiger clutches by the SL security forces. Again pointing out the error of permitting such misinformation, drew a similar lame response from the police.

The London based Global Tamil Forum and it’s leader Farther Emanuel ,a major funder of Tiger terror in SL, have regularly  had their annual celebrations in the rooms of the house of commons , hosted by prominent members of both parties, fearful of loosing the Tamil vote , touted as the deciding vote in many marginal electorates in UK.

Permitting terrorist sympathizers to manipulate democratic freedoms, simply because , such actions did not affect them personally, as has happened in UK for decades was courting disasters like what happened this morning.

It is to Prime Minister John Key’s eternal credit that he protected NZ by preventing such groups from gaining foothold in NZ, as he did with his firm stand against the “Boat People”.

    Well said, Chula!

Those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword!

With my sympathies to the victims and the families of this attack, I like to remind the British parliamentarians of the British complicit in the Saudi terrorism in Yemen and the wider Middle East. With many Human Rights forums crying out for the British to stop selling weapons to Saudis they are still in the business. They helped many terrorist outfits in the world, including LTTE and ISIS. Sri Lankan armed forces are victimised for stopping terrorism.

When terrorists kill white people the whole world take notice, but when the terrorists kill thousands of people in Sri Lanka not many spoke out. To many the white lives are precious than the others. So then why it is the lives of the world’s most ruthless terrorists so important to some white people, UNHCR and some NGO’s? The obvious answer is LTTE money and their block votes.

As Sri Lankans who have suffered for nearly thirty years, we should sympathise with the loved ones of those victims. But at the same time the Brits must realise they are paying for the sins of their terrorist leader Tony Blair who is well protected by the state and the goons at UNHCR.

    Sarath W,

Well said! Every day innocent people are blown to bits by Western militaries using their high technology to impose their hegemony on distant lands, as we saw in many Middle Eastern countries with the exception of Afghanistan that merited the military response for harboring Osama bin Laden!

So, those who have suffered in the Middle East pay back in the same coin, as well as they can, most often against equally innocent people in Western countries. We are in the Middle of a renewed Clash of Civilisations, a new phase of the Crusades if you will.

That is why what Donald Trump’s promise to 1. live-and-let-live and without trying to remake other countries in the Western image, and 2. to those who launch unprovoked attacks on the USA HARDER THAN EVER BEFORE makes so much sense. That is, he promised not to INTERFERE in other countries unnecessarily, but to defend his own country with all its might when attacked without provocation.

That is a SANE FOREIGN POLICY for any country to adopt. I hope he will KEEP HIS PROMISE without being swayed by others.

Oops! I meant to say “2. to hit those who launch unprovoked attacks on the USA …..”
