The JO May Rally at the Galle Face was MASSIVE and was a ROARING SUCCESS.

The crowd was MASSIVE, and only 1/3 of the crowd could be accomodated at the 18-acre field itself, with the remaining 2/3 occupying the roads from Colpetty to Fort and Slave Island.

In comparison, the SLFP meeting field at Gatambe, Kandy was a 2-acre field, and the UNP meeting field at Campbell Park, Borella was a 4-acre field.

The TSUNAMI I predicted is definitely hitting the shores of Sri Lanka. Perhaps a MILLION Patriots concerned about the DESTRUCTION & ENSLAVEMENT of their Motherland TURNED UP to support the JO meeting.

I expect this to send SHIVERS down the SPINE of the Yamapalanaya leaders.

Aiyooooo Sirisena had promised a significant change in the government after May 1, and this DISPLAY of OPPOSITION to the Yamapalanaya by the people is bound to affect his decision.

I HOPE he will DISMISS Ranil as the PM and his existing SLFP-UNP coalition government, and invite MR to form a NEW reunified SLFP/UPFA government. However, I doubt Sirisena will do it because of his EGO and his JEALOUSY of MR. Cant expect any patriotism from a BACKSTABBING appaya.

NEVERTHELESS, the rest of the year PROMISES to bring about a SEA-CHANGE in the government, one way or another. JAYAWEWA!

Bravo. I agree with Ananda. Bankrupt Yaha Palanaya Bangawewwa

I am thrilled to see the massive crowd that gathered at Gall Face. I fervently hope that there would soon an end to the so-called “Yahalapanaya” government of the Maithri-Ranil combination. The Sri Lankans all together should gather around Mahinda Rajapakse and make him the leader of the government of Sri Lanka once again, thus paving way for the bright future of the country without allowing any foreign power exploit the resources or interfere in the affairs of the county. The so-called leaders of the present government, who become slaves to the dictate of foreign powers should be chased away from power as soon as possible!

As an expatriate (Srilankan) Tamil I can only wish success to the efforts of the Joint opposition to bring Mahinda Rajapakse to power once again, May Lord Ganapathy’s blessings be to the best leader Sri Lanka has seen since its independence!

    A MASSIVE RALLY at GALLEFACE.

However, My3, MR and CBK should DROP HATRED for one another and join TOGETHER to keep the party in ONE piece.

OR one of them should retire from politics.

IF anyone watched the rally you should see there were NO Muslim CAPS IN THE CROWD and NO TAMIL BANNERS – NO Tamils in the CROWD. JO did NOT have ANY Tamil or Muslim MP ON STAGE either. MR should know his crowd and work ACCORDINGLY.

  6. Fran Diaz Says:

    Ananda,

    Thanks for the details !
    Agree with you & vyasan.

    ———-

There was a MASSIVE CROWD with representatives from the Minorities, on the stage as speakers, as well as some in the crowds on Galle Face Green as well as elsewhere.

Jayawewa to JO and ALL PATRIOTS of Lanka !
End the deadly ‘Crash & Sell’ RW program, stupid subjugation and slave-like mentality of Yahap – and MOVE ON to Peace & Prosperity for ALL !
Let Lankans live in dignity & self respect.
Be friends with the whole world, but without subjugation.

  7. Cerberus Says:

Lorenzo, I am not sure what you are talking about. There were several Tamil speakers on the stage including Karuna Amman. There were a couple of Tamil Muslim speakers. As usual, you are trying to confuse the readers and drive a wedge between MR and the Tamils and Muslims. Please do not spread disharmony among the communities. There is enough as it is.

  8. Lorenzo Says:

    Cerberus,

Please read what I wrote. “there were NO Muslim CAPS IN THE CROWD and NO TAMIL BANNERS – NO Tamils in the CROWD. JO did NOT have ANY Tamil or Muslim MP ON STAGE either.”

Of course there were Tamil and Muslim SPEAKERS!! But that is all! These “political parties” don’t have ANY voting power!! NONE of them are MPs. Also look at the CROWD, the PEOPLE, the VOTERS. NOT a single TAMIL banner among them. Not a single sign of any Muslim in the crowd.

NL, I’m stating a FACT. I’m NOT driving any wedge. There is NO need!

I watched the rally on youtube. You should have read the COMMENTS by ardent supporters of the rally. They said the same thing!

  9. Lorenzo Says:

WW called for a BLACK FLAG DAY when MODI visits SL. But it is not rocket science MOST TAMILS support MODI. They do NOT support BLACK FLAGS on MODI’s visit.

Trying to raise black flags on Modi’s visit is driving a wedge between TAMILS and other SLs and ENDIA and SL.

For peace, I do NOT want anyone to raise BLACK FLAGS when MODI arrives in SL. Raise black flags against SL POLITICIANS who SELL the country to ENDIA, CHINA, etc.

This is what Tamils did when RUNIL met MODI recently. They held a HARTAL in the north and east AGAINST RUN-NIL and SIrisena.

I’m sure you AGREE with me on this.

(I’m not opposed to more effective action against MODI.)

  10. Ananda-USA Says:

While Sirisena wants to appoint Gonseka as his personal ATTACK DOG, DEFEATED Seperatists are moving to RECREATE their own ATTACK DOG team!

The TNA, the POLITICAL PROXY of the late LTTE military arm, now wants to RECRUIT “Rehabilitated” LTTE Cadre for POLITICAL work!

This is VERY DANGEROUS. because it gives the Tamil National Alliance a FULLY TRAINED Tamil Army for deployment at a MOMENTS Notice!

How do you like that? The Political and Military Arms of the DEFEATED LTTE are now being RESURRECTED in BROAD DAYLIGHT!

HELLO! Is there ANYONE in the Yamapalanaya Security Departments AWAKE, now that the Intelligence Organizations of the Armed Forces have been THOROUGHLY SUPPRESSED?

Does ANYONE in the Yamapalanaya understand how the former Tamil captives of the LTTE will feel when their FORMER CAPTORS and TORTURERS are restored to their FORMER ROLE?? Ever heard of a CHILLING EFFECT on the exeercise of democrazy when former Nazi Gestapo troops are EMPOWERED??

Any ALARM BELLS RINGING in the hallowed halls of the Yamapalanaya? Any at ALL??

    …………………………
Sri Lanka’s main Tamil political party to get rehabilitated LTTE cadres involved in political work
Mon, May 1, 2017, 12:20 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Apr 30, Colombo: Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK), the main Tamil party of Sri Lanka’s Tamil National Alliance says the party has decided to integrate rehabilitated LTTE cadres in to the party as part of a bid to give them the opportunity to involve in political affairs.

ITAK party spokesman, MP and lawyer MA Sumanthiran told media the party took the decision at the party’s central committee meeting held in Batticaloa on Saturday (April 29).

“Considering the rehabilitation, livelihoods and political life of former LTTE members, the ITAK has agreed to obtain their assistance for the party’s political work,” Sumanthiran said after the meeting.

The party says the rehabilitated LTTE cadres need to be fully integrated into the society.

“The living standards of the rehabilitated LTTE cadres need to be raised and they need to be maintained as an ordinary community in the society,” Sumanthiran said.

The MP said the party central Committee decided that the doors for politics should be opened for them as well at the appropriate time.

A group of rehabilitated ex-LTTE cadres have held discussions with the party to contest the 2015 August general elections, but the discussions were not successful. Following the discussions, the group contested the elections as an independent group but failed to win any representation in parliament.

The ITAK said a Ministerial Sub-committee has been appointed to look into the Tamil people who are displaced due to the long war but they seem reluctant to express their views before the committee and the party central committee has decided to draw the direct attention of the Prime Minister to the matter.

  11. Dilrook Says:

Glad Mahinda participated without avoiding it. A leaders must be with his people especially at a time when people need him/her.

JO must prioritize abolishing EP. Otherwise it will be stopped at every step of the way. Storming into the houses of the president and prime minister as advocated by five speakers is not advisable. Governments should be changed only by due elections. The ruling coalition must take into account the change in the swell and may decide to bring forward elections as Mahinda did after the Uva election in 2014.

  12. Vaisrawana Says:

This explains why Sarath F and Rajitha S are gone mad, and crying for Mahinda R’s blood.

  13. Fran Diaz Says:

Minorities who participated in the JO Galle Face area meeting would have avoided slogans and fez caps. The meeting was under the slogan ‘Podu Jana’ which means Undivided/All Together/Oneness etc.

JO must get rid of 13-A & 19-A, both imposed from abroad.

Is there real Democracy in Lanka ?? !!

It is far kinder to offer FREE birth control material to adults rather than have wars & political Games to kill and maim people.

  14. Indrajith Says:

Well done! A great show of strength for the Joint Opposition.
