Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s security detail first reduced, then restored

In a dramatic turn of events, only hours after the government decided to reduce the security given to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa by a further 50 personnel, it was restored without an explanation being given on the about-turn.
Initially, an order was sent to recall 50 personnel attached to the security detail of Mr. Rajapaksa. They had, in fact, been specifically identified. However, by late last night, the order was cancelled. Sources close to Mr. Rajapaksa said the reason for the change of heart was not known.
Earlier, soon after May Day, 42 personnel attached to the security detail of the former president were recalled. The governments said it was done after a threat assessment being conducted. (Kelum Bandara)

Is there anything that the Jadapalanaya can do with a straight face? Now go and suck lemons? Mahinda Rajapakse is a veritable giant in politics. A set of Nila Massas together with she-skunk (Urule Denak) are plotting to assassinate him. What a fiasco?

If there is anything the Yamapalanaya should be afraid of, it is that even a HAIR on Mahinda’s head would be hurt!
That would certainly launch a BASTILLE DAY that not even Fonseka with his “special security force” can halt!
In their own interest, the Yamapalanaya government leaders should double and treble MR’s security, lest other players like the Tamil Separatists, or the JVP Sinhala Kotiyas, attempt a “false flag” attack!

According to lankacnews, the Mahanayakes have told the government to stop reducing MR’s security. If their call is not heeded, they have warned, they’d take drastic action against the government.

It is not the Yahapalanaya making decisions for Yahapalanaya. I don’t give them that much credit. The Yahapalanaya is only the Puppet Government in SL for the International Community. Yahapalanaya decisions and actions are foreign made.

SLFP ministers to seek Rajitha’s removal today

A group of Cabinet Ministers representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will meet President Maithripala Sirisena today and request him to remove Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne from the post of co-Cabinet spokesman, it is learnt.
These ministers met at the residence of Fisheries Minister Mahinda Amaraweera the other day. In his place, they are going to propose that Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa be appointed to the post. Mr. Yapa held this post during the time of the previous government.
Those who were at the meeting included Ministers John Seneviratne, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Nimal Siripala de Silva and Dilan Perera.
Dr. Senaratne and Mr. Seneviratne locked horns over remarks made at a Cabinet briefing that Minister Sarath Fonseka would be assigned to deal with emergency situations triggered by trade union actions. Dr. Senaratne cited this as a decision by the Cabinet whereas Mr. Seneviratne denied the fact. This led to a verbal clash between the two in public.(Kelum Bandara)
