UNDER THE SAME SUN, THOSE DEAD KIDS FROM MANCHESTER TO KEBBITHIGOLLEWA

Rajpal Abeynayake

(Rajpal Abeynayake was the former Editor in Chief of the Sunday Observer, the Daily News and the Lakbimanews English weekly.)

This week’s terrorist attacks in Manchester would remind most Sri Lankan’s of attacks in buses and trains and on office blocks in Sri Lanka.
All the circumstances are familiar, such as explosives packed with ball bearings, children dead, people shocked, and numb with disgust and fear.
Except for this one difference.
Nobody outside of Sri Lanka cared one toy pink balloon when Sri Lankan children were murdered.

To this day, even, at the United Nations Human Rights Council, the former Sri Lankan president and his army is being taken to task for ensuring that just these kinds of attacks were stopped. But nobody talks about the children of Kebbithigollewa who were killed by terrorist attacks very similar to, or worse than than the attacks in Manchester a few days back. (They were Claymore mined for god’s sake.)

There are no flowers or teddies for these children, and no sorrowful odes certainly not from BBC CNN or Channel 4 or of course any of the leaders of the ‘free world.’
No children should be killed, not in Manchester, not in Kebbithigollewa, not in any part of the world.

But yet the world reacts differently. Nobody cares about this anomaly anyhow, not the liberal tear jerking fluffy heads of the press here, who cry in their sleep and beat their breasts in their waking hours for ‘Justice’ and good journalism. What a pack of forgettable silly-heads.
When the children of Manchester are killed they say no stone must be left unturned to apprehend these terrorists. Human rights are held in suspension.
The British Premier insists human rights laws should be held in abeyance in order to combat terror.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3820659/At-justice-troops-Ministers-pledge-suspend-human-rights-laws-wartime-stop-soldiers-dragged-courts.html

Britain will cry buckets for children in Manchester, as Britain should, but not one tear would be shed for the scores who were killed in Sri Lanka, in Kebbilithigollewa and elsewhere, and the soldiers who were also killed and maimed in their efforts to rid the scourge that killed these children.
Instead Britain cries for the blood of these Sri Lankan soldiers, or at least the British government does. They want our soldiers to hang for their services.
And yet the British cry for the children of Manchester.
Cry for the children of Kebbithigoloewa, Britain.
Cry for the soldiers who stopped children from dying.
I know many arguments would be made against my point, each getting closer to vilification rather than explanation, as the intensity of the denial about the double standard increases.
None of that would cut.
Because everybody knows. Everybody including every cringeworthy hypocrite knows.
We stopped terrorists who killed small children, and cannot be called out for it, when Britain is using every rule out of the book to unsuccessfully stop terrorists from killing their own little kids.
You may still get away with your charade, but that won’t stop the hypocrisy from reeking upto the Pearly Gates and right unto god’s own quarter, until Kingdom Come, and you know that.

    My thoughts as well.

It gets even weirder. Royal British air force carried out revenge bomb attacks in Syria, etc. after the event. They wrote “love from Manchester” on these missiles and bombs. According to ground sources, civilians also died in these attacks. How can that be justified?

All hell would have broken lose had Sri Lanka air force bombs carried “love from Kabithigollewa” on bombs dropped on a LTTE terrorist training camp in Senchaolai.

As long as West’s “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” concept remains, terrorism will thrive. West must also clamp down on foreign terrorists living in their countries and money collection for foreign terrorist groups.

However, it is far too late for most European countries. There is another war European countries are gearing up for (in addition to the counter terrorism war). That is a war with Russia. This is insanity at its worst. A war devastated Europe (following a clash with Russia) will be easily overrun by Middle Eastern groups. May be it is colonial Europe’s fate. People from their former colonies are coming to Europe.

Thank you Rajpal for opening up the truth and writing the truth without any reservation.

Leave those Brits, if you talk to our own Colombians and so called current leaders, they will shed more tears for Manchester kids than even Kebithigollewa kids. They will read every detail in the news of Manchester disaster but will not spare 5 minutes to read about Kebithigollewa kids.

I noticed one thing in MR. When this Kebithigollewa massacre happened he was very emotional if I can remember correct. Yamapalaya leaders do not care of Mother Lanka or sons and daughters of Mother Lanka. They are opportunistic minded.

Our public do not see this clearly… that is our main problem.. leave all those Western puppets aside…. Main damage to Mother Lanka has been done by our own short sighted fools.

  3. Lorenzo Says:

    True Hiranthe.

MR visited them FACING DANGER HIMSELF and shared their GRIEF. He said he will NOT bow down to terrorism.

That happened while the totally BS CEASEFIRE was on!!!

BEFORE 2010 MR WAS THE BEST.

  4. Hiranthe Says:

Thanks for sharing the same view Lorenzo.

Not only Sinhalese, Tamil public is also foolish and ungrateful. I don’t know how but both these communities are full of selfish, ungrateful and foolish people. Otherwise more than 350,000 innocent people who got saved from Killer Prabha’s human shield project will not vote against MR.

Now their children are educating, No more child soldiers, no more hiding your kids from LieTTE agents… all because of MR got rid of the LieTTE killer machine. But now who is reaping the fruits of that?? it is the TNA, who never talked on behalf of ordinary people, who never talked against the human shield of Killer Prabha.

  5. ranjit Says:

Undoubtedly MR should be the right choice for the Nobel peace prize for ending the brutal terrorism from our blessed land instead they gave it to Obama for what reason? Did he brought any peace to the world? No it was hypocrisy of the white man. I never cry for any country except mine not because I don’t have any feelings for human beings other than in my own country but because no one cried for our innocent citizens when they faced the same for thirty years of terror by barberic terrorist movement LTTE. I never pity or feel sad when there is a bomb blast in the west or in India because they were the cause for our destruction and deaths and now for their harassment and pressure towards our country.

War on terror cannot do any good for world peace. Unless they get together and take a firm decision to stop all terrorism from the earth without siding with any terrorist group or organisation they won’t be able to stop this menace. There is no terrorist called good or bad. They are all same. They kill innocent people and it should be stopped by all means. Instead of punishing us SRI lanka they must take an example from us how to stop terrorism for good. They should appreciate what MR and his war heroes did within few years of time to end the blood bath created by the most horrific terrorist movement in the world. I called the world now itself accept the truth and allow us to live in peace.

  6. Ancient Sinhalaya Says:

This is how terrorism works in the west plus australia and nz.
Greedy low life deshapaluwan goes round their constituencies. Check how many diasporats in those places.
If the numbers are high enough low life deshapaluwa bend down and lick diasporats’ back sides, promise their
drealam. Then those low life deshapaluwan gets the mp job, sees the party leader, then party leader change the
foreign policy to suit. But when it happens to them go on public and promise to destroy the terrorist outfit. When
we see these hypocrites on tv, newspapers etc. it simply disgusts us. Double standards. No shame on those guys.

Us has killed millions of people around the world.
    Hiroshima and Nagasaki over 100,000
    Vietnam close to million
    Iraq 1000s
    middle east 100s.
Native Indians murdered in 1000s, now the new generations banished to remote areas.

Surprise, surprise US preach human rights to other countries while murdering 100s of 1000s in other powerless
    countries, arming themselves
with nukes to the teeth. They even have UNHCR to punish the countries who
doesn’t toe their line. That’s why UNHCR still after MR’s blood. But UNHCR’s monki boon never heard or seen
syria’s millions of deaths since the west and Russia involved there. What we can’t understand is, when it happens to them why it is hurting them?

  7. RohanJay Says:

That was a terrorist act by the British Royal Air Force if true that they bombed syria for Manchester. They no doubt would have killed scores of innocent syrians in the process. Lets not forget the British Government supports the terrorists in Syria.
Its the Russians and Syrians who are genuinely fighting the terrorists. Also it was a very dangerous and provocative act.
If the Syrians or Russians reacted to the RAF it could have been WW3.
This shows the criminality of the British Govt absolute scum. Pouring more death after terrorists they created attacked Manchester.
Where is the UNHRC resolution for that?
