When I read this news item I feel that any true Sinhala Person will get agitated and angry when you get insulted like this by tigers .
Unless you show the enemy that you are stronger ,they will re attack
In 1970’s ‘s I was in London staying in the Students Centre .Much before Tamil Tigers became very strong .Many Tamil youngsters surrounded Sri Lankan High commission and came to the student centre .There were only few Sinhala students and out numbered . Few Tamil boys walked into the Centre shouting in Sinahala callin us Sinhalaya Modaya !”” and behaving aggressively .Police was called in and they were dispersed .
What do you think we did with few Sinhala students .?We walked towards Paddington Station and confronted few aggressive boys .We beat the hell out of them and quietly retreated .
Message came to the crowd in front of the Embassy and they became more vociferous, but nothing could be done.
I am generally a non-racist ,but when it comes to being insulted I will never keep quite .
If I was standing in that place where the Brigadier was I would have made similar or more threatening gesture.
Long live Sri Lankan Forces who have fought to eradicate the tiger menace

A very good move by President Sirisena. Our thanks goes to him for his courageous decision. Unfortunately for him, he just lost almost all Tamil votes.
Why is Mahinda and Ranil silent on this? I challenge them to show some courage. Mahinda has no Tamil votes to gain or lose. Why silent?
For the record Brigadier Priyankara Fernando was suspended in 2010 because he protested politicising welfare at Tamil IDP camps during the election time. Many who sell him for political gains today have forgotten it.
Tamils have shown complete lack of gratefulness for this war hero who put his job on the line to serve Tamils in Vanni. He was a much respected army officer in the north.

This guy has already lost Tamil Votes. Die-ass-pora and Tamil politicians waited 3 years to get the Ealam constitution through… but the Yahap not even close to that because of our patriot’s protests. (Well-done patriots in SL). If the constitution has gone through, My3 will be taking Diaspora’s side and harassing more Ranaviruwos to make Tamils voters happy. For him the door is already closed for Northern votes. Now he is trying to catch up with some of the Sinhala votes by doing things like this. Desperate man!!!
These acts are good for cinema galleries. He was ignorant / sleeping when all the Intelligent unit Ranaviruvos were arrested and kept in custody to please Tamils…
Tamils are seen as not grateful because they listen to their politicians and acting upon their advices. They never take their own decisions probably due to cast based suppression.

Sirisena’s fate is not my concern. He is desperate. However, his action in this regard shows courage (which is very rare to come for him). I wonder why Mahinda is still silent on the matter?
I measure right or wrong on a case by case basis, not on a person basis.
I disagree patriots did anything to disrupt the new constitution. We did protest but they were not heard by the government. They could have easily passed the new constitution as they passed 19A but they didn’t. The truth is, even the government was not keen in passing the new constitution! This was observed by one Professor Liyanage who noticed the absence of any more devolution in the government’s finalised Vision2025 Plan. He questioned which one was correct – the proposed new constitution that will rely on more devolved development work or the Vision2025 which emphasises central control of almost all economic planning!
Further evidence can be found in budget allocation. Only peanuts were allocated to reconciliation, constitutional affairs and further devolution restruction (nothing was allocated). Obviously, the government was not keen in passing the new constitution.
Same goes for hybrid courts. The government has not positively facilitated it. Making statements won’t do. Not opposing it also won’t work as it requires changes to our Constitution and Judicial Services Act.
This may be due to incompetency (this government is the most incompetent in history) despite wanting to do it. Or it may be greed for power (which is a good thing in this regard). Ranil knows only too well what awaits the UNP if the new constitution is passed.
Agree with your assessment of Tamils. Can be seen from all election results since 1931.

Sira is acting now to show he is a patriotic Sri Lankan to get a few more votes thinking he can fool the voters again. If he is so patriotic why did he allow Ava Mangala to bring the UN resolution against Sri Lanka and jail our heroic intelligent offices. He is a shameless crook.

I agree that this is a DESPERATE move by the PANA-NATHI JANA-PATHI trying to garner Sinhala Buddhist votes on the eve of the Feb10th Local Government Elections, after remaining SILENT while the Motherland’s DEFENSES were SYSTEMATICALLY DISMANTLED and our WAR-HEROES were SYSTEMATICALLY VICTIMIZED from pillar-to-post by the Yamapalana government led by the UNPatriotic Party.
The PANA-NATHI JANA-PATHI Palwatte Gamaralage Maithripala Yapa Sirisena, aka the AAPPAYA, and his DESHADROHI collaborators Avamangala Samaraweera and the PARA-GATHI AGA-MATHI, among others, will NEVER BE FORGIVEN by the Deshapremi Sinhala Buddhist Majority of our country!

How can anybody take such stupid action without consulting the president? We have become a laughing stock because of this twin jokers who are ruling this land. We should all salute the brave war hero who stood alone against the Terrorist Tamil diaspora in London and pray for his future. His bravery should be appreciated by every citizen who loves this nation. Follow him war heroes and be strong to act when ever necessary to save our motherland.
