Diplomatic community concerned over MR returning

The diplomatic community is concerned over the possibility of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa returning to power in the near future.
Western diplomats are believed to have raised their concerns with the Government and among the diplomatic community.
The concerns arise from steps taken by President Maithripala Sirisena to have talks with the joint opposition to form a United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Government.
There are fears that if a UPFA Government is formed it will set the path for the return of Rajapaksa to power.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) led by Rajapaksa, which won the Local Government (LG) elections last week, has already called for early Parliament elections.
The SLPP has said it will support the President to bring the required amendments in Parliament to the 19th Amendment to allow the holding of early Parliament elections.
The United States, United Kingdom and EU member countries are concerned the human rights situation in Sri Lanka will return to its dark days if Rajapaksa is allowed to return to power.
Rajapaksa’s return to power could also see Sri Lanka once again lose the EU GSP plus trade concession in the event a Rajapaksa-led administration refuses to comply with the EU conventions related to human rights which the unity-Government followed in order to regain GSP plus.

It is India and India vermin in USA, UK, Canada and UN who are concerned.

Hey para suddas this is my country mind your own business and piss off, we don’t care about your concerns or no need of your advices. Vamooz you devils without giving unnecessary headaches to our land of Sinhalese. Whole world heard the people’s voice demanding Mahinda Rajapaksa back as the leader of this blessed land therefore let’s respect the wish of the majority and hands off from our country’s affairs. We are a sovereign country and nobody should interfere in our affairs. It’s not the democratic way as these hypocrites preaches.

This is the bs Sri Lanka has had to put up with. What right has the Western diplomats to express opinions of our leaders or interfere in our elections? Look at their own countries. Are human rights followed in those countries? During the 30 years terrorist uprising did they help us? We are the only country that ended the terrorist uprising in such a civilized manner. Sri Lanka army liberated 300,000 Tamil civilians who had been captured by the Terrorist leader Prabhakaran and most of the terrorists captured were rehabilitated and released into society. Would the West ever do that? Human rights are always twisted to suit the geopolitical agendas of the foreigners and the UN has become a tool of the West to harass poor countries who do not toe their line. UN is the biggest joke of the century.

Where O where were these “terribly concerned Foreigners” when nearly 30 YEARS OF TERRORISM FROM THE LTTE WAS UNLEASHED ON HAPLESS LANKANS, KILLING THOUSANDS OF VILLAGERS FROM EVERY COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY THE SINHALA VILLAGERS, AS WELL AS IN CONFRONTATIONS WITH THE LANKA ARMED FORCES, PRIOR TO THE MR GOVT. WHICH TOOK THE DICISIVE COURSE TO FINISH THE WAR, THUS LIBERATING ALL THE COMMUNITIES OF LANKA FROM ACTS OF TERRORISM.
After the hard part of removing the LTTE was done by the MR Govt., along comes RW (+CBK) AGAIN – to please whom ? Re the appointment of RW as Exec PM, MS the President says ‘because the west wants it so …’ !!
And to cap it all, now Lanka is saddled with the RW/CBK duo – ‘Crash & Sell Lanka’ RW with supportive CBK !
Is Lanka a Democracy ?? !!
