Allegations of Ramasamy’s ties were widespread after a photo of himself and pro-LTTE politician V. Gopalasamy circulated online.

The photo is believed to have been taken during a recent wedding reception.

The LTTE is a Sri Lanka-based organisation that has been classified as a terror group by multiple foreign countries.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Fuzi said the police force had been beefed up with an additional 15 Expressway Mobile Patrol Vehicles.

The 15 cars, worth around RM2mil, had been given to the police by Plus Malaysia Berhad at the ceremony.

The IGP said the new additions would help increase the police’s effectiveness, especially along the highways.

He added that a request to the Government had been made for allocation to replace old vehicles still in service.

This would possibly be done in stages,” he said.

We understand the current financial situation faced by the country.

However, we will continue to request it, so that we can provide the best service possible for the people.”
