Indian envoy appeals to Lankan youth to take advantage of scientific know how available in India

Colombo, August 13 (newsin.asia): The High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, has appealed to Sri Lankan youth connect with Indian youth to take advantage of the scientific knowledge available in India.
Speaking at the Gamini Dissanayake Institute of Technology & Vocational Studies, Nuwara Eliya, the envoy said that youth in both the countries have the same zeal and passion for success. And India, he added, is committed to undertaking people-oriented development partnership projects including projects in education.
The future of any country lies in its youth and they have to be nurtured to realize their full potential,” the envoy said.
Navin Dissanayale, the Sri Lankan Minister of Plantation Industries, Chairman of Gamini Dissanayake Foundation and the son of Gamini Dissanayake received the High Commissioner.
Complementing Foundation’s activities under current Chairman, Navin Dissanayake, the High Commissioner recalled the modern and futuristic outlook of Late Gamini Dissanayake.

Who helped trouble makers in SL?. It was always India. LTTE got training, funding and guidance via India. When ever JVP fellows were in trouble they would get safe passage to Europe via India. So it is clear who wants the edifice our forefathers built chipped away- it is none other than India.
India is a big country and on any subject, the google search would yield 50% contributions by Indians. While we were concentrating on liberating the country from the menace they created, they were pursuing technological advancement relentlessly. But we can catch up without Indian help which would definitely be another drain on our already damaged economy. I myself have beaten one of their specialist engineers in the development of a certain software when he was assigned to work in our office way back in late 1980s. However the way that gentleman was glued to the computer gave an indication to me that they are working hard on that field and very soon they would do big things. After I left the country I wrote in Daily News that India is making headway and we too should follow up. I know many commented on it and some ministers like Richard Pathirana took it seriously.
I would like to tell the Indian envoy that will again spur our politicos to drive towards technological development in a meaningful way which is not limited to the books of academics.
