The defunct Speaker of Parliament Mr. Karu Jayasuriya who was the worst ever speaker in Sri Lanka’s parliament history who was extremely bias and unruly, who in his utter arrogance deliberately ignored to recognize the majority opposition group in thee Parliament, arbitrarily conferred the post of the Leader of the Opposition to the minority party Tamil National Alliance which had only 16 members in the Parliament as against the 54 members of the Joint Opposition and similarly appointed the Chief Opposition Whip from the JVP with only 6 members in gratitude for that party’s blatant support to his party UNP and extensively restricted time allocations of time for the JO members to speak in Parliament and gave extensive time allocations for JVP and Government Ministers and MPs, suspended and expelled JO members from attending Parliament on baseless grounds, took his own unreasonable decisions to enlist or delay motions presented by MPs particularly JO MPs in the Order Papers, deliberately and on signals from the Prime Minister obstructed the speeches of JO members seems to be highly worried about the legitimate sacking of the former Prime Minister and proroguing of Parliament by the President.

Despite the fact that he is no more the Speaker with the cabinet being dismissed and the Parliament is prorogued and a new Speaker is to be elected, most probably Mr. Chamal Rajapaksa, when the Parliament resumes sittings on 16^th next month, this defunct Speaker has written to President Maithripala Sirisena, asking the latter to protect the rights and privileges of Ranil Wickremesinghe and reconsider the decision to prorogue Parliament till November 16 saying that would lead to ‘serious and undesirable’ consequences. This man thinking very high of him has stated that such an action should have been taken in consultation with him.

The ousted Prime Minister has told foreign correspondents that the Speaker would summon the Parliament on the 30thTuesday.

Upon having a meeting with party larders on Tuesday 30^th October Mr. Jayasuriya has written asking the President to convene the Parliament.

Mr. Jayasuriya earlier in the week has travelled to Kandy to meet the Mahanayake theros saying that he is visiting them to seek guidance due to the current political chaos in the country, Thinking that he can fool the Mahanayake theros, he has said that he had no intention to take the side of a person or a party and his sole intention was to solve the issue in a peaceful manner. He has also lied to the Mahanayakes saying that already people have died due to the clashes between the two sides, there is unrest and foreign countries are issuing travel warnings and this might set back the country diplomatically and economically.

The Mahanayake of the Ramanngna Nikaye Ven. Keppetiyagoda Siriwimala Nayake Thera of Rajopawanaramaya Peradeniya and members of the Sri Lanka Ramagnna Nikaya have hailed the action taken by President Maithripala Sirisena at a time of political crisis in the country.

In a statement issued by Venerable Keppetiyagoda Siriwimala Nayake Thera has stated that the Yahapalana administration led by former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was responsible for the political chaos in the country during the past three and a half years and that the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the New Prime Minister would be competent to restore the country to normalcy after resolving the many issues created by his predecessor. The statement has further stated that the entire Sri Lankan nation had the confidence in Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa efficiently resolving the many burning issues created by the Wickremasinghe regime during the past years with his far-sighted patriotism and courage that brought an end to the LTTE led terrorism in the country.

The Nayake Thera has said that the Maha Sangha the guardian of the nation and the island of Sri Lanka conferred blessings on President Maithripala Sirisena for taking appropriate action to replace the groups that damaged the country’s identity and democratic process by process by replacing in office a group that maintained democracy with patriotism in the past.

The prelate has said that the removal of the former administrators by President Sirisena ended the attempts of a group to divide the country in the name of a sham Sanhindiyawa.

Meanwhile, the JVP which is being alleged as a party in the payroll of the UNP and whose current leader Anura Kumars Dissanayake well known as Lapayaa was alleged by the former party leader the late Mr. Somawansa Amarasinghe for taking aa bribe of Rs. 25 Million from a UNP leader in Kandy to clandestinely help the UNP election campaign in the 2015 General Election and who was also alleged by the former UNP Parliamentarian for the Rathnapura district the late Mr. Gamini Ratnaltilleke of functioning as a Goni Billa” and betraying party cadres has criticized President Maithripala Sirisena’s decision to sack Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister on October 26 and stated that proroguing the Parliament is an extension of this course of action. But the people can see, from the behaviour of Rajapaksa, Sirisena and Wickremesinghe since Friday that they will do anything to hold onto power. No one is budging, and everyone is ready to see the country descend into chao, he has said.  After extending his fullest support to Ranil Wickremasinghe and even having an office at Temple Trees to provide advice to Ranil Wickremasinghe he has said that the prevailing situation is not beneficial to the people and the country and this chaos will also indirectly benefit external forces that want to intervene in Sri Lanka.
