When our politicians who are dishonest and devious couldn’t careless for the people therefore they couldn’t care for the lesser beings like the animals.

There’s no point in the Buddhist laity and clergy shouting from the roof tops about the need to uphold article 9 of the Constitution to protect the Buddha Sasana, when none of the leading Buddhist organizations have had the courage to pressure past and present governments to enforce animal welfare laws, which are in accordance with the Buddhist teachings.
So-called Buddhist politicians pay scant attention to these since they are more interested in votes, including those of persons who do not want such laws enforced for supposedly religious reasons. One example was the animal sacrifices at Munneswaram Kovil.
THE IRONY IS THAT MOST COUNTRIES WHICH ENFORCE SUCH LAWS ARE PREDOMINANTLY NON-BUDDHIST.
