Hiranthe is 100% right. Complete Pacha because it was my personal friend who protected this man. He was hiding in my friends house and then one politician guaranteed his safety and then he ( only 19 years old that time) was produced to police and later pardoned.

If it is true he would have disclosed this incident much earlier.
He is a typical pacha president from day one.

NMY,
I personally know the true story. It is SLFP and my friend ( with no political connections) who saved him as ALL fathers do to protect a young man.

No doubt he is a liar. He failed to keep all his promises.
However, this story is partly true. He did mention about it before the 2015 presidential election. In that he narrated that he and his classmates used to go to the jungle where a Tamil communist (Nagalingam Shanmugathasan) “taught” them. Strange these communists never “taught” their own kind -Tamils. But he disappeared at lunchtime to go to a restaurant to have a good meal funded by the then rich communist NGOs. But he had caught him feasting while preaching communism. Sirisena was never in the JVP. He was working for the SLFP then. He was in custody for a while. His sacrifices were recognized by the Bandaranaike family.
His point is also valid. Police has no right to decide on punishment. It must be a judicial decision.

@Dilrook,
I haven’t heard that “Tamil Communist” story. I don’t trust his stories either.
All I know is he attended JVP classes and my friend’s father hid him (under the bed once).
