Wimal Senanayake

When the army was making advances against the terrorists the church was all against it. In fact its ally Jayalath Jayawardene went to the courts to curtail army’s advancement. Therefore it is ironical to hear now the Cardinal Rev. Malcolm Ranjith demanding the government to do all to improve the resources of the army. Terrorists are terrorists irrespective of their demands & all & sundry should support the army always to safeguard the country not only when their interests  are affected.

If a significant number of people die after consuming some food but most escape you still label that food as poisonous. Do you wait until all of those who consumed the meal die to declare that it is poisonous? On that same note if a significant number of people is persuaded to become terrorists and suicide bombers  after following a certain religion it should be banned irrespective of the majority remain normal.

PM Ranil is playing his game as normal by appointing committees & calling foreign help when confronted with problems putting the independence of the country at stake. Having FBI & American help encroaching into our country will be the beginning of a worse set of scenarios embroiling the country further in international politics. However PM Ranil is least concerned of it as his only goal is to cling onto power at any cost. The public is awaiting eagerly to hear the departure of these sleuths from our shores at the earliest.

Of course PM Ranil should have resigned immediately has he had some dignity at the first place.

Banning Burka & Madrassa schools should be top priority and a permanent step not just during the emergency which is unlikely to happen under this weak government in power. Ministers, MPs & Chandrika  are talking of these to ease the pain of the suffering public but they know these just are window dressings. All those culprits should be prosecuted under the law but how many will be released on the sly under orders from the top is worrying.

This is a country thrice blessed with the visit of Buddha. What we saw in the recent past was unending harassment and prosecution of Sangha by the government on flimsy grounds. No wonder today they have cause to weep. Isn’t it Ven Galaboda Gnanasara Thero who first brought the extremism of some Muslims into focus? He was hounded away on the pretext of maintaining national unity. The country is paying now for its sins.

Thripathi Sirisena & Thripathi Ranil with their frequent homages there have brought the country the curse it deserves in this way. What a let down to the majority Buddhists of the country after the huge publicity of the steps taken on Thripitakaya, the President seen on Thripathu Vandana, literally the next day. Mahinda too does this unBuddhist frequent homages there and how pleasing it is to note however not by Gotabaya. We earnestly plead Gotabaya not to fall into this disappointing ritual.

The suffering public has only one demand and that is going to the polls as early as possible to see the back of these jokers. The parliament should agree to vote with two thirds majority to go for elections to bring in a new government to power.

If there was a single pleasing news to the public amid this carnage it was the Reuters report that Gotabaya admitting that he is running for the Presidency!

The dead locals are Sinhalese Christians and Muslims both religions Hinduthwa wants out of India and its neighbors.
India knew the locations and even the names of the bombers and they had a local group in South India of the same names.
It is Tirupati that spared the Taj hotel? I am sure Sirisena prayed for it!
Taj is frequented by our king makers and kings like Chandrika, Atul Keshap of the days gone by, Mr. Singh; local Indians and Indian from overseas.
Taj is part of TATA and our tea is next on the line with Tetley’s.
India is good at covert operations; Jeppos and Tamil Tigers both killed Sinhalese.
