   The economy cannot be salvaged this way! It only worsens it.

   These are the steps needed to save the economy in this order. No Rajapaksa, Premadasa or anyone from main parties can do them.

   1. Reduce the public sector by 50% to just 750,000 staff.
   2. Remove the PC system.
   3. Reduce the size of LG bodies by 80%.
   4. Reduce the number of MPs to 100 and total ministries to 30.
   5. Increase taxes to 15% of the GDP.
   6. Stop all foreign borrowings. No development activity should be carried out with foreign loans.
   7. Change the Samurdhi scheme on a needs basis.
   8. Stop all luxury imports.
   9. Tax all illegal foreign workers in the island.
   10. Totally restrict hadouts in the north forcing them to receive more donations from their relatives.
   11. Scale down the tea industry and get the workers to work in the middle east.
   12. Stop interfering in affairs of state banks, CPS, CEB and other corporations.

   It is not rocket science by 2024 Sri Lanka will be in a worse economic disaster.
