Sajith if you have a bit of intelligence tell Ranil that you are not accepting any of those condition. Put all those conditions back on Ranil ask him, Karu or any other person who is going to contest from UNP to give his undertaking to full fill those conditions in writing. Let see whether Ranil or Karu will accept that UNP challenge. Its obvious UNP & the whole country know nobody can contest against Gota. Better let UNP & SLFP divide and contest so that Voters will cast whole sale to Gota and make him over 70% to put the country back to normal. But if Gota is going to take all those rotten present PMs who are surrounded him, he too will not able to do anything. Its only same old wine in new label.

Well done Sajith for rejecting some stupid conditions. But he must agree to abolish EP.

UNP need not promise any more devolution to win Tamil and Muslim votes. What TNA says is not relevent. Tamils and Muslims have no choice than to vote for the UNP, devolution or not, if a Rajapaksa contests against the UNP. This is the reality.

UNP already has 22.5% of the vote in its kitty from minorities. Why any more devolution?

All UNP presidents were nationalists than their SLFP rivals. It helps the nation if UNP can field a nationalist, at least not a traitor. Then people have a choice. A traitor is no choice.

If there is only one patriotic party, it can manipulate Sinhala people. When there is choice, they have to work hard to win Sinhala votes and cannot take the majority for granted.

    Mahesh Senanayake must also contest.

There is nothing called “dividing Sinhala votes”. If the candidate is bold enough to promise the abrogation of 13A, Thesawalami, Sharia, etc., he/she will win all Sinhala votes. If none can promise them, then voters are naturally divided as all are same. Candidates must distinguish themselves.
