Very good to increase direct subsidies for agriculture but how are you going to fund it? Sri Lanka is in a debt trap. Easy to give desperate promises but they can ruin the economy.
e.g. Sirisena’s promise to give all public sector workers a 10,000 rupee salary increase a month costed $1 billion without any gain for the economy.
If Sajith wants to do same it is utterly foolish.
On the other hand if he can find savings elsewhere, agriculture deserves better than public sector workers.
