There is an increased risk of coronavirus infections if the current system implemented in the country is relaxed, says Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe.

Therefore, it is important to continue the curfew in order to maintain social distance, he said.

Dr. Jasinghe mentioned this joining the ‘Derana Aruna’ Breakfast Show on TV Derana this morning (08).

The number of Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests carried out to identify COVID-19 infections will be increased in the coming days, he further said.

Can the good doctor who is doing a yeoman service to the nation tell us how many persons in SL have got Covid-19 from other than a close contact of an overseas visitor (that is community level transmission)?.

It appears that use of Hydroxichloroquine Sulfate is wide spread all over the world for Covid-19.

I myself had a very bad experience in the use of Cloroquine many years ago when I was living in an Italian camp with my family in Africa. I had taken a some tablets which we usually do when we get an attack of Malaria. When we take the stuff lack of appetite and even vomiting follows. In that instance I got dehydrated and one of the Italians rushed me the hospital in the nick of the time. It a delay in a few minutes happened I would not have lived to type this today. Taking the rice porridge prepared by my wife subsequently help me to regain the appetite and strength quickly.

So, if not taken strictly with medical advice chloroquine rather than Corona may kill a person.
