One more COVID-19 case detected; Total count reaches 1,801

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka have moved up to 1,801 as another person tested positive for the virus today (05).

Accordingly, four infections have been detected so far within the day – two naval personnel under quarantine and two returnees from Bangladesh at the Rantambe quarantine centre.

Earlier today (05), a total of 19 coronavirus patients, who had recovered from the disease completely, were discharged from the IDH, Homagama Base Hospital and Minuwangoda Base Hospital. With this, the country’s recoveries tally escalated to 858.

Accordingly, 932 patients infected with Covid-19 are currently under medical care at hospitals, says the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

In the meantime, 11 patients have died due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
