It was revealed today (17) that former Director of the CID Shani Abeysekara was aware of the contents of the verdict in the case against former MP Duminda Silva before it was announced.
This was during the hearing of evidence at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing incidents of political victimisation.
The complaint lodged by former MP Duminda Silva’s father, Lal Silva was taken up before the Presidential Commission today (17).
The complaint to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing incidents of political victimisation, alleged that former MP Duminda Silva has been imprisoned for more than four years on an incident based on a political conspiracy.
Testifying before the Presidential Commission, Lal Silva began to explain the facts regarding the incident faced by former MP Duminda Silva during that time.
