SABUDDHI and GARI sign MoU: Open new vistas in the field of SL’s academic research

The ‘SABUDDHI’ Organisation, which works on fostering literature while encouraging connectivity between sports, art, and literature, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Academic Research Institute (GARI) on 11 March. The agreement is aimed at collaborating on future academic and research work, as well as providing media support to the GARI  through the SABUDDHI Circle.

‘GARI’ is one of the most prominent educational, conference, and research publication centres in Sri Lanka committed to exchanging knowledge of the experts across the globe. It is also the host of the well-known digital academic library”, www.research.lk. The GARI currently organizes more than ten international academic conferences annually.

The next international research symposium organised by GARI will be held on the theme of sustained development, peace, and conflict management. It will be held on Friday, 19th March at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo.

The SABUDDHI Organisation is meanwhile involved in, among other projects, Sabuddhi pothgula (Library for Schools with less facilities) and organising an annual awards ceremony to recognise creditable efforts in local sports literature appearing in the print and electronic media.

The MoU signed between GARI and Sabuddi is expected to be a new drive towards developing the field of research in Sri Lanka and their place in the global academic sphere,” said Sirinama Rajapakse, Executive Director, Sabuddi, also adding that their broader aim is to introduce the value of research and academic interest to the general public.

We at GARI plan to organise many international academic conferences in Sri Lanka in future. This new MoU will create a great opportunity for local academic researches to have a greater international appeal,” said GARI Managing Director Sampath Abeywickrema.

The said MoU between Sabuddi and GARI was signed at the ‘Mandarin’ Education Centre in Colombo-3. Also took part on the occasion were Thushi Renganathan and Amal Wijenayake, Directors of GARI, and its Information Manager Hashan Rajapakse. Thameera Manju, President, Sabuddi, and Marshard Bari also attended the event.
