No Muslim Cooperation for division of the country

The Tiger terrorists have distributed a leaflet in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts advising Muslim youths against joining the Sri Lankan armed forces. This notice was published even in the tiger website Tamilnet.
It says that Muslim Brothers and Sisters need not be frightened of the imminent war of liberation that is soon to engulf the east, and should not join the Sinhala armed forces, and urge for co-operation of Muslims in working towards strengthening the Tamil Muslim relationship. As a Muslim, I would like to tell these Tamil terrorists that the Sri Lankan armed forces is not a Sinhala army, but the national army of Sri Lanka. There is a considerable number of Muslims serving in it, and it is our bounden duty to as Sri Lankans to fight against the chauvinist terrorist forces which has waged ruinous war to destruct our nation.

What is the cooperation they are urging for, and do they think that we have forgotten the atrocities committed by them against the Muslims of Sri Lanka. The Muslims of Jaffna expelled by them totally from their ancestral homes, are still living in thousands in refugee camps, under the protection of the government. They massacred thousands of innocent Muslims, including women and children just because they were Muslims. If the tiger terrorists have forgotten of this I would like to remind them by giving only the accounts of major massacres.
On 3.8.90, 103 Muslims were massacred in Kattankudy, Batticaloa, while they praying in 2 mosques. Two days later, 33 Muslim farmers were massacred in Ampara. Five days later in Eravur, 116 Muslims were massacred. On 29.4.92, in Alinchipothana, Polonnaruwa 56 Muslims were massacred, and on 15.10.92, at Palliyagodella, Polonnaruwa 171 Muslims were massacred. These are only figures relating to massacres of over 25 persons. Among the prominent politicians include the former Deputy Minister Mr. Majeed of Muttur and Mr. Mahroof, M.P. of Trincomalee.

We have always stood for the unity of Sri Lanka. The germ of hatred and disunity among Sri Lankans was planted by.J.V.Chelvanayakam. Speaking in the House of Representatives on 26th November 1947, he gave vent to the idea of a separate Tamil entity, saying that if Sri Lanka is to liberate itself from the British Empire why should not Tamils secede from the rest of the country. On the contrary one of the eminent Muslim leaders, Macan Markar said in the State Assembly in 1939, that "as a Muslim I am not afraid to state that this country should be ruled by the majority Sinhalese. Let them rule, we will help them in this task," Macan (Hansard 1939 Column 843). This is the outright response to the terrorist leaflet. .
