DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE

According to information I have gathered Reverend Jayasekera is a well known personality in Russia. He is popularly known as PUSHPAKUMARA.

He married a Russian woman in the early nineties and later divorced. He has been recruiting students from various countries promising higher education in Russian Universities and is reported to have charged as much as the equivalent of 10000 Australian Dollars.

There is news that he has been indulging in illegal recruitments to Russia by means of illegal passports and there is some alarming news that some of these recruits died under tragic circumstances. According to reliable sources, the highest qualification he has earned is a degree in Radio Electronics.

In Russia, if one studies for four years in a degree course that enables one to be described as BSC. However, most opt for MSC since this involves a marginal study period of one and a half years more..

If you refer to his welcome message in the Web, he seems to think that CIMA is also a degree. I am a member of the accountancy profession, An Associate Member of Chartered and Management Accountants (A.C.M.A.) .

According to my findings CIMA studies are totally unconnected to the claims he is making. When we listen to his brothers statement to "Lakbima" it is further amusing.

His brother, Sisira Jayasoriya, (Editor-Janawijaya) specifically states, that he and his brother (Shanthi) are from a buddhist family. He goes on to say that he (Sisira) studied in Russia for a number of years and Shanthi helped him a lot.

Sisira further states that his brother is an Engineer by profession and it was his brother who arranged the grant of a degree for Ven. Soma Thero.

He denies any knowledge that his brother Shanthi is a Reverend or associated in any Christian Missionary work or activities incidental thereto.

The credibility of Sisiras statement may be open for doubt. However there are few things that are quite clear to any reasonable person.

The first is that Ven. Soma Thero was genuinely ignorant of who Shanthi Jayasekera alias Pushpakumara was. The second is that Jayasekera has been effectively Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. The next few days might probably offer more clues to this unsolved mystery. You can not fool all the people all the time.
