TNA Manifesto demands Sinhala nation to accept Eelam in toto.

A.A.M.NIZAM MATARA.

When the President was forced to call for a general election in the national interest to prevent Eeelam becoming a reality under the guise of ISGA, the anti-national treacherous, rogue, reactionary elements patronizing and promoting the UNP were convinced that with the support of the terrorist LTTE proxy TNA whom they believed would emerge as winners in the electorates of the Northern and Eastern provinces, with the help of mass rigging of votes by the LTTE, they could once again install a government submissive and subservient to all anti-national forces. The notorious Ministers with tarnished characters terrorizing the electorates as District Leaders and electoral organizers of the UNP-TNA coalition (UNP-LTTE combine) election campaign publicly and shamelessly threatened the innocent voters on the strength of the illusive victory. The TNA Election Manifesto released this week (March 14th ) apparently manifests the blatant threat to this sovereign nation, which existed as a Unitary State for nearly three centuries.

It looks identical to the annual speeches of the terrorist leader and the preamble is full of falsification of history, distortion of facts and fabrication of illusions. Knowingly or unknowingly it completely shatters the UNP government’s claim of establishing a no-war situation consequent to the Ranil-Prabhakaran MOU signed on 22nd February 2002. The Manifesto clearly states that the current ceasefire was unilaterally declared by the LTTE on midnight of 24th December 2001. It says that they submitted the ISGA (Interim Government) proposal on 31st October and wanted the government to appoint a date for commencement of talks for implementing the proposals and blames the President for precipitating a political crisis at this juncture by taking over the three key Ministries and for culminating their efforts by dissolution of Parliament and announcing a general election. It further states that this state of affairs completely disrupted the efforts to set up the ISGA (the Eelam ).

As a prelude to its resolutions the Manifesto states that during the last two years it has gained complete control on 70 regions of the so- called Tamil homeland and is managing an administrative set up with characteristic features of a state government but also has a functioning government. These claims illustrate that the Manifesto is directly from the LTTE and not from TNA as TNA has no such administrative authority and also exposes that the treacherous government abdicated the authority of these regions to the terrorist outfit, without even shedding a drop of blood and negating the years of heroic sacrifices made by our valiant soldiers.

The proposals urge the Sinhala nation to accept the ISGA(the Eelam) in toto for rebuilding the Tamil country, Muslims to cooperate under the ISGA committees, for complete removal of high security zones and settlement of Tamil people in these areas, for free movement of Tamils in their “homeland” without any obstruction from armed forces, the international community to intensify provision of assistance, economic development schemes and improving the life of the Tamils. It calls for removal of restrictions imposed by certain countries on the LTTE and also demands for the release of all political prisoners.

The power hungry treacherous UNP which has entered into a secret pact with these separatist elements is canvassing in the South with the only hope of forming a government with them due to the inevitable loss of many seats they secured in the last general elections as a result of a division in the progressive camp. There could be a drastic reversal of seats position except in Colombo, Kandy, Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts based on last general election results alone. In addition, there is a perceptible wave of voters turning towards the Freedom Alliance, mostly in rural areas, and among the public servants. This election is a crucial and decisive election in the history of this nation and it would determine whether this nation should remain as an independent sovereign unitary state or it should intern the long cultural heritage, and disintegrate into ethnic enclaves resulting in a horrendous blood bath unprecedented in the Asian region. Let us bury all our petty differe nces and unite as a single force to save this nation from the looming disaster the UNP-LTTE coalition is trying to force on us.
