Dear Mr Wickramasinghe - Prime Minister of Sri Lanka

You are asking us to help you to come back to power. You made a pact (MOU) with the terrorists and kept a blind eye when terrorists were running around and doing their own things in north and east under the bogus "Peace". The Buddhist population came to an extreme insecure position ultimately the Buddhist monks decided to 'save' Buddhists by coming to politics. This situation may be the end of respect to monks by the masses in the country. I do not agree that buddhist monks should enter politics at all.

When there were too many opportunities for you and Chandrika to work together and come as a joint strong force against LTTE, you and she did not took it. Instead worked towards their own political interests. So the majority is wrongly divided between the two in a way that won't give our country any benefit. I am not for Chandrika or you or JVP or any party there...b'cos so far none have shown anything worthwhile for the eternally suffering people under poverty in the country for all these years.

Only the supporters of this selfish packs(UNP and SLFP) get richer by the day-- in the big cities. We have filthy rich and extremely poor * the poor sector is only used to get the vote in every few years and also to go to the WAR in the North and get killed. You all talk of 4 - 6% growth in the country. Do you know that the growth is distributed among 5 - 7 % of the population.

The balance of power in the Parliament is always with the minor parties because the two major parties are divided. Then the major parties will do what ever the minor parties wants and on the other side when we all are divided in the south, the LTTE in the north get what they want.

What we want is a united Srilanka where the Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burgers can live together. If your party and Chandrika's party are separately trying to solve this, you will never find an answer. The result will be that the country is divided, and militant Tamils will rule the North and East. It may not happen today tomm, but in the very near future. It has already started because they are charging their own taxes and applying own law in that part. You are aware of this but do not want to admit. This is all because of the selfishness of few people like you, Chandrika and other cronies around you two.

At least at this very late stage, my humble request is for you both to join hands, then we can dictate terms to the Tamil militants, bring in a solution where we all can live in harmony. Remember, US is still considering LTTE as a terrorist organisation (which is true) and use the opportunity before LTTE propaganda machine takes over and force US to withdraw that condition.

We do not want WAR where poor people from the villages join to earn a living and get killed when their city counterpart enjoy life in international schools and 3 - 5 star hotels.

Remember, we are not hippocrates running away from the country and talking of solutions. We will come back to work in the country if the major political parties join together to to fight the common enemy(Terrorist Organisations), bring in a workable solution which can lead to a united SriLanka. Until that happens, we cannot see a future for our country
