Huge crowed gather to Historical city Panadura for “Bodhu Maha Samuluwa”

Panadura happened to be a famous city in the world and hold the honor of being the venue for the world famous “Panadurawadaya”. That debate was the last debate out of five debates (Pancha Maha Vada) by Ven. Migettuwaththe Gunananda Thero. Panadurawadaya is considered as one of the turning points of history for the freedom of Buddhists. Those days, Buddhists were harassed by the Christian Missionaries, and they did not have freedom to appear in the society with a Buddhist identity, and it got changed after the Panadurawadaya. Proving the pride of a Buddhist city, magnificent crowed gathered to Panadura yesterday (26th February) to attend Bodhu Maha Samuluwa, which was organized by Jathika Sanga Sammelanaya.

Leading the front by Ven. Ellawala Medananda Thero, the whole stage was shined by the most noble Bhikkus who are against the activities of fundamentalists sects and corrupt politics, for the sake of Buddhism and unity, peace and harmony among all the races and religions in the this country.

Breaking the tradition of disgusting political meetings, it took the form of a real Buddhist meeting, ensuring that these efforts will be conducted without breaching any Dhamma-Vinaya rules in pure Buddhism.

Extremely considerable amount of Panadurians are expected to support this timely movement of great noble Bhikkus for sure as they have been doing throughout the history.
