Ruling Sri Lanka is a family affair- Mahinda and his Brothers.

It is a blessing that the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakse has a number of brothers whom he could rely on. If he had people like Mangala Samaraweera around him he would have ended up like Caesar, stabbed on his back. We see how mean and untrustworthy are Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathy Sooriarachhi who were once his trusted men.

Thanks to Gotabhaya, Basil, and the rest the President is sure that he has people who can be trusted to carry out the war against terrorism. Unfortunately Mahinda Rajapakse inherited an unfinished war against terrorism, and a well armed and fortified group of terrorists and a weakened army paralysed by the most unwise CFA entered into by a weak Prime Minister of a previous government, with the ruthless terrorist Prabhakaran. The priority for the President was to rid the country of terrorism , to enable him to carryout the programme he had planned out in what is called the Chintanaya.

The people understand, that the prevailing circumstances had prevented the President from putting into effect the Chintanaya as he had envisaged. The President, has shown to the people that during the past period since he was appointed all his effort had been to see an end to terrorism, and he has with the able Army Commander , the Security forces and his brothers standing by him, defeated the planned establishment of the Tamil Eelam by the terrorists. Today the terrorists are no more what they had claimed to be. The East had been won over, and the Eelam map the terrorists had prepared is not valid any more.

Rajapakse Family had played an important role, in weakening the terrorists, and recovering the territories that had been claimed as theirs, freeing the civilians trapped by them. The Rajapakses’ were a family to be reckoned with even before Mahinda Rajapakse came to politics. The President has not appointed his brothers to key positions merely as a means to find employment for them. They are intelligent, qualified for the posts they hold, and are dedicated to the cause of redeeming the peaple from the state of fear into which they had been plunged into by a group of terrorists; and end terrorism once and for all.

People should not be fooled by the political antics of Mangala Samaraweera, Sooriarachchi and least of by Ranil Wickramasinghe. Ranil Wickramasinhe, worked to divide the country, and made the terrorists a powerful armed force. It was a great blessing that Mahinda Rajapakse was appointed as the President at this very crucial point of the history of Sri Lanka. People should rally round him to allow him to complete the work he has already started to rid the country of the menace of terrorism. His brothers are a formidable team in the process of delivering Sri Lanka from the clutches of terrorists.
