Norway Funding LTTE Terrorism in Sri Lanka & E. Solheim's Open Support of the LTTE

An Open Letter to Prime Minister of Norway by Ira de Silva Ontario, Canada

Hon. Jens Stoltenberg
Prime Minister of Norway

Dear Sir:
Norway Funding LTTE Terrorism in Sri Lanka & E. Solheim's Open Support of the LTTE

I wrote to you on November 29,2006 regarding the claims made by the former right hand man of the LTTE leader, namely Karuna, who indicated that he was present when Solheim gave his open support to the LTTE and gave details of the LTTE payments to Solheim as well as Solheim's gifts to the LTTE leader, Prabhakaran. I pointed out to you that what is particularly disturbing is that not only is the Norwegian government funding terrorism in Sri Lanka but that Solheim is taking bribes from the LTTE to do their bidding as well as bribing the LTTE leader.

I requested that there be an inquiry into the allegations and that they be either refuted or that action be taken against Solheim and the other corrupt Norwegian officials who are being paid by the LTTE in Norway. I am sure that nothing has been done so I am writing to you again given that a Norwegian national Mr. Rovik has now provided details of the funding to the LTTE and other NGO's in Sri Lanka to support the LTTE. The widely held view in Sri Lanka that Norway in general and Eric Solheim in particular is supporting LTTE terrorism in their attempt to divide Sri Lanka by force is being proven accurate. Mr. Rovik is re-inforcing Karuna's statements and confirming the duplicity of the Norwegian "facilitation" and of Solheim's support for the terrorist organization called the LTTE.

It is surprising that in a so-called democracy as Norway, there is suppression of information from the government, open support of LTTE terrorism by Norwegian politicians who are paid by the LTTE, and taxpayers money is being used to fund terrorist organizations and their support groups. Now that Mr. Rovik has gone public it appears that the Norwegian authorities are trying to counter the information, not by providing facts to refute the information provided by Mr. Rovik, but by a smear campaign against Mr. Rovik. Is this what Norway calls democracy? Why has the government not investigated Solheim and refuted the claims made by Karuna? The obvious answer is that you are unable to. Some of the information being provided by Mr. Rovik was initially made in 2004 in Oslo. The Norwegian Foreign Ministry did nothing then, why is it carrying out a smear campaign now? Obviously the truth can not be faced by either Solheim or your government.

Since 2004, with the blessings of your government and Solheim, thousands of passports were supplied by the LTTE to Al Quaeda. Does it now mean that Norway supports the LTTE and Al Quaeda? Since 2004, Solheim's partner in crime in Sri Lanka, Balasingham died and a grieving Solheim was pictured paying his last respects. Who is grieving about the thousands of deaths in Sri Lanka due to Norwegian supported terrorism but innocent civilians in Sri Lanka. We do not see Solheim grieving or paying his respects! Naturally there is no statement from the Norwegian government either because that is what your government supports - death and destruction in Sri Lanka so that Norway can try to fool the world that it is a facilitator/negotiator even though the whole world knows that Norway's facilitations/negotiations have been a dismal failure.

Mr. Rovik is to be congratulated for having the courage to present the facts to the Norwegian and Sri Lankan public. If what he says is inaccurate, provide the correct information. If you can not, Mr Rovik is vindicated, Norway and Solheim stand indicted. ( For your easy reference I am giving below the statements by Karuna last year re Solheim's corrupt practices).

Yours truly,

Ira de Silva
Ontario, Canada

The following are "highlights" of the statement made by Karuna who was privy to Norway's dealings with the LTTE and Solheim's actions. Please consider the following:

(1) Erik Solheim's house in Norway was bought with money donated by the Tigers;

(2) Solheim always told Prabhakaran in Karuna's presence that the Norwegians were with the Tigers;

(3) Solheim gifted a 6ft TV screen to Prabhakaran, a TV addict, despite the former Deptuy Minister, Vida Helgessen objecting to it;

(4) Solheim showed them military bases and donated transmitters;

(5) Solheim advised Prabhakaran how to govern - i.e how to run his military outfit;

(6) Solheim gave 16 million kroners to Anton Balasingham immediately after the signing of Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) in Oslo;
Note: Karuna was an eye-witness to this transaction.

(7) the Tigers bought arms and ammunition with that money and unloaded ammunitions 40 days after the CFA was signed. "We unloaded shipments against the CFA," said Karuna.
