THANK YOU MAHELA!

Shripal Nishshanka (Middle Bond)

Even though Britain destroyed the unity in the world to the maximum, one of the things they invented in the sports as Cricket can be utilized to adopt by human beings to play, since exercises enhance the health. Sri Lanka produced brilliant cricketers and among them Sanath Jayasuriya is the best of the best. Well mannered, undoubtedly sporty, Sanath inspired Romesh Kaluwitharana and opened up a new page in the book of one day cricket as requested by Dulip Mendis and Dave Whatmore and prepared the way to bring the World Cup to Sri Lanka.

Marven Atapattu was one of the reserve players then, and his talent in cricket and being brother in law of Arjuna Ranathunga paved the way for the captaincy of the national team which always has ups and downs as any sport and game played anywhere in the world. That is a nature of any sport but maintaining rules and regulations should be taken as a duty and responsibility of any player. Arjuna Ranathunga's loose tongue brought some tension between Sri Lanka and Australia, which proved his un-sportsmanship to the world. It is true that some low class players think that skin colour is a talent but there are gears in the sports to answer. The tongue shall be used after controlling by the mind. Roshan Mahanama, another great cricketer suffered due to Arjuna's poor and horrible behaviour right through out his national tenure. If not for Aravinda de Silva's contribution with other participants as the vice captain in 1996 World Cricket Cup, probably Arjuna Ranathunga may not even a city councilor today.

Gone are the days, but history shows certain patterns which easily can be researched to visualize the future with data available at present. Mahela Jayawardane speaks some English and plays some good cricket time to time but his reign as the cricket captain of the Sri Lankan national team shall be revoked immediately. It will be pleasant if Mahela resigns now rather than facing the axe which can harm his record. Ill treatment to Sanath during Mahela's captaincy to shut the door partially and his certain decisions during last World Cricket Cup (WCC) proves his incapability as a true captain.
It indeed was a shocking speech which Mahela delivered as the runners up captain soon after the last WCC presentation mentioning about the future of Marven Atapattu. There is no business whatsoever with Mahela to predict about the future of Marven Atapattu. Marven is a separate entity and Mahela is neither Marven's wife nor his mother or father to say, "I don't know what will happen to Marven in the future"!

The cat jumped out the bag and every wise listener of that no class speech knew that something is being cooked. Now the time has come to Mahela to wash his dirty linen.

MAHELA, PLEASE RESIGN NOW LEAVING SOME DIGNITY WITH YOU AND LET KUMAR SANGAKKARA TO LEAD!

Kumar Sangakkara is a way qualified cricketer to lead the national team than Mahela in all means. Sri Lankan cricket lovers acknowledge Mahela's good decisions which paved for fantastic and gorgeous victories in many series and some good cricket. Now the time has come to play under Kumar Sangakkara or let somebody else to enter the pool. The Sri Lankan cricket board shall immediately take necessary action to replace Mahela, before a flow of facts of truth findings will be displayed to the world eventually.
