HIGH PROFILE LTTE MEETING PLACE WAS HIT FROM AIR BUT TAMIL NET SAYS ONLY FOUR CIVILIANS WERE WOUNDED

By Walter Jayawardhana

Ministry of Defence sources in Sri Lanka claimed that Sri Lanka Air Force jets hit precision air strikes “at a high profile gathering point” a day after the Tamil Tigers celebrated its suicide bombers in the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) held Kilinochchi District.

The striking point known as Vaddakachi was actually hit but those who were wounded were only “civilians”, the pro-LTTE Tamil Net claimed.

The admission by the LTTE gives some light to the fact that this militarily important area , eight kilometers northeast of Iranamadu tank , was hit by two Air Force jets , but it is not yet known whether important LTTE leaders were attending the “high profile” meeting, independent sources said.

Just a day ago, the LTTE celebrated the suicide bombers of the terrorist group in the same area attended by the Tamil Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.

According to a photo published by the Tamil Net , apart from Prabhakaran S.Poddu of the Intelligence Wing, Col. Soosai , special commander of the Sea Tigers, Ratnam of the military intelligence wing, B. Nadesan the political wing head, head of military academics Aathavan and Naren of the Sea Tigers attended the suicide bomber celebrations

“356 Black Tigers have laid down their lives, 254 of them in sea operations, during the last 21 years since 5 July 1987,” said the the Tamil Net

Introducing the terrorist outfit as a leader of the morbid art of suicide killings in the world.
Defence sources said, the air raid was taken based on real time ground information received.
The Tamil Net said, “The bombardment has taken place at Naavalar Veethy in Vaddakkachchi, a GS area in Karaichchi division of Ki'linochchi district.”
