PRABHAKARAN BEGGING INDIA FOR SUPPORT AFTER KILLING RAJIV GANDHI. WHAT A SHAME?

Malin Abeyatunge

If Prabhakaran was asked to take a lie detector test on his so called annual Heroes Day Speech, he will most definitely be branded as the Greatest Liar on Earth. All atrocities committed by Prabhakaran and his gang have been conveniently mentioned in his speech as those committed by the successive Governments. Every sentence he had uttered in his speech is a blatant lie.

He had the audacity to say quote” The Tamil Eelam does Not want war. It does not favor violence Unquote. The whole world knows the LTTE is the mother of all brutal violence” and FBI branded them as the most brutal ruthless terrorist outfit in the world. Starting from killing of Alfred Thuraiappah by Prabhakaran himself and assassination of Tamil leaders including Amirthalingam, Jaffna Mayor, Mr & Mrs Sam Thambimitthu, Neelan Thiruchelvam, Kethieswera Logananthan, Lakshman Kadirgamar to name a few, Indian premier Rajiv Gandhi and Sri Lankan president Premadasa, killing of many ministers and Sinhala political leaders like Gamini Dissanayake, Ranjan Wijeratna, Lalith Athulathmudali, CV Gunaratna, aren’t they violence act perpetrated by LTTE? According Prabhakaran in his speech, killing 200 devotees at Sri Maha Bodhiya Maluwa, 39 Buddhist monks in Arantalalwa, 649 policemen who surrendered, 100 odd Muslim prayers in a mosque in Kattankudi, Pettah Bus Terminal and Central Bank bomb killing hundreds and maiming over thousands, bombing trains and public transport in the South killing hundreds, Kebeithigollewa massacre, massacre of innocent villages in LTTE threatened areas in East and North Central province, these acts are not violence according to Prabhakarn’s dictionary. What does he call them then? Acts of love and kindness? Has he found a new meaning to the word “Violence”?

Suddenly Prabhakaran, the megalomaniac Tiger has become a card board tiger so meek and weak and is kneeling and begging India to support him to achieve his mythical Eelam Quote I wish to express my love and gratitude at this juncture to the people and leaders of Tamil Nadir and the leaders of India for the voice of support and love they have extended.” He also appealed to the Indian government to take constructive actions to remove the ban which he said remains a stumbling block for the good relationship between India and the LTTE.unquote. Yet he didn’t have the courage to say sorry or show his remorse for having killed Rajiv Gandhi the son of India on their own soil. I doubt that Indian people except a few hard core terrorists from Tamil Nadu will ever forgive Prabhakaran and LTTE and now with the changing faces of scourge of terrorism she faced last week in Bombay, Indian support for Prabhakaran and his terrorist outfit will be very remote.

He knows that either he will be captured soon or he has to take his cyanide pill as he had promised his fighting cadres (which I doubt he will swallow the pill as he loves his life more than anything else albeit he didn’t care two hoots for those brainwashed vulnerable suicide bombers and the LTTE cadres who is carrying cyanide pills hanging in their necks.) and hence he wants to stop the war. Is he really serious? Or is it another ploy to avoid a shameful defeat? He is wrong if he thinks that he can fool the present President and his government liked the way he fooled successive presidents and prime ministers in the past. Well, the President Rajapaksa has asked not once many times to lay down arms and come for talks and why not do it now and you will save your skin at the expense of over 25000 thousand deaths of Tamil people who sacrificed their lives for nothing.
