Defending 4 Billion Women: CEDAW’s Mandate hijacked – Let’s Protect Biological Women’s Rights
Shenali D Waduge
For over 40 years, the CEDAW Convention was the global standard protecting women — defined as biological females— from discrimination and ensuring equality in every sphere of life. Today, however, the Committee charged with safeguarding this treaty has overstepped its mandate, replacing “sex” with “gender identity” in its guidance. By doing so, it has redefined what it means to be a woman, undermining protections for billions of biological women worldwide, including 1.1 million in Sri Lanka. This ideological drift is not a minor policy change; it is a direct threat to female-only spaces, healthcare, maternity rights,... -Full Story-

Smart, multiple alliances can be India’s new path
By Milinda Moragoda, Courtesy The Hindustan Times
The international system is undergoing a profound transformation. The certainties of the post-World War II order — anchored in the UN, Bretton Woods institutions, and a rules-based multilateral framework — are buckling under pressure. What appears to be emerging in its place is a more transactional and interest-driven global order, shaped by spheres of influence and great power bargains reminiscent of the 19th century’s Congress of Berlin and the Cold War doctrines of George Kennan and Henry Kissinger’s realpolitik. The present Trump administration seems to be shaping a strategy... -Full Story-

Is a system change possible without a mindset change?
By Raj Gonsalkorale
Changing the world begins with changing our minds. In the midst of growing global crises, including climate change, increasing polarization, inequality, and an overarching sense of disconnection from those around us and the natural world, it’s not a stretch to say that humanity needs change. Without question, the external systems and structures of our world need to be examined and adjusted. Yet a more hidden source of our current problems runs so deep that it is often overlooked. The very mindset that has enabled today’s crises lies inside of us. As we wrestle with the... -Full Story-

Shabbos-Goyim

The late saint of the communist calendar, Rosa Luxemburg, often called her opponents ‘Shabbos-goyim,’ meaning servants of the Jews. A Shabbos-goy is a non-Jew who toadies to every wish and whim of the Jews, especially in politics, or a non-Jew who is heavily supportive of Israel, says the dictionary. They are a breed apart. One can argue about how successfully Jews rule the countries they lead. There are more- and less-successful examples. Usually, Jewish rule is good for the king and his coterie, and bad for the... -Full Story-

From Nightingale to Surrender: Who Hijacked the Nursing Uniform?
By Palitha Ariyarathna
The recent request by a group of Muslim women to modify nursing uniforms for religious reasons and the government’s hasty assurance that “there are no legal restrictions” reveals a deeper problem: a shared lack of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) on both sides of the conversation. Cultural Intelligence is not about appeasement. It is about recognizing context, respecting native frameworks, and understanding when adaptation becomes distortion. In this case, both the petitioners and the officials failed to uphold the civic and professional integrity of Sri Lanka’s public health system. Let us be clear: the nursing... -Full Story-

CSE for Kids. DEI for Adults. Same Funders. Same LGBTQIA Agenda
by Shenali Waduge
 · 25th October 2025 Around the world — and now proposed in Sri Lanka — two programs targeting schools and workplaces appear harmless but raise serious questions: CSE for children in schools and DEI for adults in workplaces. On the surface both sound harmless. Who doesn’t want children protected from abuse? Who doesn’t want fairness in workplaces? But behind the soft terminology and wording and promoted by handpicked trained “experts” lies a global LGBTQIA agenda, strategically designed and funded by the same network of organizations, enforced through: ... -Full Story-

The same goes for fires in forests and “climate disasters’ staged in Sri Lanka. Renewable Energy In Sri Lanka: Is China Set To Return? – Analysis
By A. Jathindra, Courtesy Eurasia Review
Fresh tenders are expected to be called for the two renewable energy projects that were previously offered to India’s Adani Group. In the Sri Lankan context, it is not surprising that projects with Indian funding in the north-east often face opposition under the banner of environmental concerns, while Chinese investments rarely encounter the same level of scrutiny. For example, the Indian-funded coal power plant planned for Sampur, Trincomalee, in the Eastern Province was abandoned due to environmental objections. India, respecting public sentiment, pivoted to a solar alternative. In contrast, the Chinese-backed coal power... -Full Story-

Right of Reply: Defending Civilization, Protecting Children – Rejecting Extremism of LGBTQIA
Shenali D Waduge
Sri Lanka must ponder: living privately is one thing; legalizing confusion and unnatural sexual behavior is another. Civilization has been built on the natural order of man and woman, family, and procreation. Religions, laws, and cultural norms across time have consistently condemned acts that undermine this foundation. Societies endure and prosper when natural family structures are respected; they falter when unnatural sexual behavior is normalized. LGBTQIA ideology—backed by foreign funding and driven by ideology and profit—sought to overturn biology, target children, undermine families, interfere with religion, and punish dissent, all under the guise of “inclusion”... -Full Story-

Greenwashing Debt in the Galápagos Islands: Green, Blue and “Sustainability Bond” scam Lessons for Sri Lanka

The Galápagos Islands harbor some of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. Their isolated location in the middle of the Pacific Ocean has allowed species to evolve independently from their relatives on the mainland over millions of years. Creatures such as Darwin’s finches, giant tortoises, and marine iguanas are found only on the Galápagos Islands. It was here, 600 miles west of the South American mainland, that Charles Darwin gathered insights that shaped his theory of evolution. Is a Job Mafia to Israel Operating from Sri Lanka?

The recent arrest and bail of former Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has renewed attention on allegations of a foreign employment network funneling Sri Lankan citizens to Israel under questionable circumstances. At the center of the controversy is Saman Priyantha, a private employment agent reportedly offering job placements in Israel. Multiple complaints filed with the Urugasmanna Junction Police allege that Priyantha collected substantial sums from prospective workers, delivering few legitimate job placements. Allegations of a shadowy employment network needs to be investigated. The Emergence of Tamil Militancy in Sri Lanka
Dr. Ruwan M Jayatunge M.D., PhD
The emergence of Tamil militancy in Sri Lanka can be traced back to a complex interplay of historical, social, and political factors that have shaped the island's ethnic landscape. It reflects a broader narrative of ethnic strife, where historical injustices and socio-political exclusion catalyzed a movement that sought to reclaim identity and autonomy through armed struggle. The People's Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO), the Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF), and the Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students (EROS) are significant political and militant... -Full Story-

A Huge Airbase with a Small Country Attached: Israel, British Imperialism, and Airpower Colonialism
Juan Cole at TomDispatch
Donald Trump’s and Benjamin Netanyahu’s nomination of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, his hands already crimson with the blood of innocent Iraqis, to run post-war Gaza, brings to mind a distant era when London sent its politicians out to be viceroys in its global colonial domains. Consider Blair’s proposed appointment, made (of course!) without consulting any Palestinians, a clear signal that the Middle East has entered a second era of Western imperialism. Other than Palestine, which has already been subjected to classic settler colonialism, our current neo-imperial moment is characterized by the American... -Full Story-

The UNHRC’s continuing assault on Sri Lanka: A way forward
By Dharshan Weerasekera, Courtesy The Island
The UN Human Rights Council’s (UNHRC) latest resolution on Sri Lanka raises serious questions about the Council’s impartiality and respect for the UN Charter. This new measure extends the mandate of the external mechanism established under Resolution 46/1 of March 2021. At the start of the UNHRC’s 60th Session on 08 September, 2025, 43 nations objected to any further country-specific action on Sri Lanka, with several specifically arguing that the external mechanism contravenes Article 2(7) of the UN Charter — which prohibits the UN from interfering in the domestic affairs... -Full Story-

Sri Lanka’s Economy is sustained by Sinhala Taxpayers: Without them, Sri Lanka stops – thank Sinhalese without demanding separatism

Sri Lanka survives today because ordinary, hardworking Sinhala taxpayers across the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, North Western and North Central Provinces carry the economic weight of the entire nation. WE ARE STILL AWAITING CANCELLATION OF THE LGBTQ TOURISM LETTER – THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT DECEIVE THE NATION
by Shenali Waduge ·
On 09 September 2025, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam issued an official letter endorsing and approving LGBTQ tourism in Sri Lanka. That letter was sent to the foreign-funded organization Equal Ground, giving them written official access to Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, its staff, institutions, and policy framework. This is not a “misunderstanding”. This is an official policy shift that violates the constitution & penal code and betrays national culture and religious values and opens the door to foreign ideological control. The letter is written evidence — and written evidence is what foreign lobbyists and international bodies use.... -Full Story-

In-house matters shall be resolved internally and not necessary to complain to the outsiders. There is no country on the earth where corruption is zero. Protecting Our Children & Culture: How Mahanayakas & the Cardinal Saved Sri Lanka from Harmful LGBTQIA Policies
Shenali D Waduge
Over the past several years, there has been a string of attempts by successive governments in Sri Lanka to implement policies that mirror Western LGBTQIA ideologies at the national level, particularly targeting children. These included proposals to teach LGBTQIA content in schools, allow pride parades, provide sex clinics in government hospitals, promote sexual activity for children as young as 16, distribute condoms in schools, legalize abortion and prostitution, and more. If implemented, these measures could have led to alarming rises in AIDS, teen pregnancies, and the overall moral erosion of society. The dangerous consequences of these... -Full Story-

By Palitha Ariyarathna
On the morning of 9 October 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded at Dharmasoka Mawatha, Arupola, Kandy, raising urgent questions about animal welfare, civic safety, and constitutional accountability in Sri Lanka. Cages were present, the animals were clearly restricted and in distress. Winners And Losers In Trump’s Peace Plan
Saeed Naqvi
Dated: 06.10.2025 What is the urgency driving Donald Trump to push his Gaza peace plan, even by dishonest means if necessary. In his eagerness to bid for the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump resorted to subterfuge, straight forward knavery. Even more compelling than his yen for the Nobel was the pressure of global public opinion which chastises the US collaborating with Israel’s unspeakable brutality, the genocide of Gaza, frame by frame on live TV. A peace plan developed with representatives of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan attending... -Full Story-

The newly developed Colombo Port City, adjacent to the existing Colombo Harbour, provides a world-class urban and business environment ideal for attracting international companies in engineering design, project management, and consultancy sectors. 500,000 British children were left confused due to LGBTQIA curriculum (2010-2020) – don’t let it happen to Sri Lanka’s 4.2m children
Shenali D Waduge
Countries that once proudly promoted “inclusivity” and “gender diversity” in schools are now backtracking —the United Kingdom is leading that reversal after destroying lives of 500,000 British children. It began as a movement to “end bullying” and quietly turned into a campaign that taught children to question their own sex, reject biology, and distrust parents & distance themselves from faiths. Between 2010 and 2020, the UK government allowed foreign-funded NGOs and activist groups to rewrite school policies under the banner of “LGBTQIA rights.” Teachers were re-trained, curriculums rewritten, and children as young as five were told... -Full Story-

Sri Lanka GDP growth rate needs to rise above 8% over ten years to achieve a GDP of USD 200 million and a GDP per capita of USD 9000 to qualify as an upper middle-class status. A high-income status requires a per capita of $13,846 or more. Can Sri Lanka achieve these targets? It is noteworthy that Singapore GDP in 2024 was USD 547.4 billion and per capita 90,674.07 USD while Sri Lanka’s GDP was USD 98.96 billion with a per capita of 4,515.57 USD. An alternative to IMF needed
N. A. de S. Amaratunga  Courtesy The Island
The IMF claims success in helping poor countries to recover from economic crises.  This may be true to some extent in terms of economic parameters like GDP, interest rates, revenue, debt/GDP ratio, etc. But it has, by and large, failed to bring about a positive change in the lives of poor people, particularly in Asian and African countries. For example, Sri Lanka faced an acute economic collapse and the IMF helped it to recover from the immediate contingency, but the poor people have not benefited.... -Full Story-

Continued from October 1, 2025 Bhante Missaka (Mihintale) Kamalasiri, a Sri Lankan scholar monk well known as a guided meditation teacher working in association with the Buddhist retreat centres of  the Star of the North and the Metta Meditation Center, Minnesota, USA, made some important revelations about the elusive Ariyamagga character in an authoritative 15-minute presentation in Sinhala, which I viewed on a YouTube video uploaded in November 2021. Foreign DEI & LGBTQIA Impositions: The Silent Career Bribery of Sri Lanka’s Non-LGBTQIA Workforce
Shenali D Waduge
Sri Lanka has long been a nation rooted in law, culture, and tradition. Today, this foundation faces direct assault from foreign-funded DEI and LGBTQIA campaigns, imposed through corporations, NGOs, and even diplomatic channels — in open defiance of our laws, Constitution, and civilizational ethos. Under Penal Code Sections 365 & 365A, homosexuality is illegal. Gender recognition is strictly male or female, making attempts to normalize LGBTQIA identities through corporate or NGO policies a direct violation of sovereignty and legality. The Supreme Court’s ruling on the Gender Equity Bill 2024 reconfirms that foreign-inspired identity... -Full Story-

Whither LGBTQI tourism?

I am writing to express my views on the recent news about Sri Lanka Tourism endorsing the LGBTQI travel initiative. While I understand the importance of promoting tourism and inclusivity, I believe this decision warrants careful consideration.  Dollar earnings “by hook or by crook” are not everything.  I think export of Rilaw monkies for meat production is a better alternative to earn dollars than gay tourism. Or even special secluded beach hotels for nudist tourism will be a lesser evil. Sri Lanka is a country with a rich cultural... -Full Story-

The country continues to struggle to recover from its lowest point, and prospects for economic stability remain uncertain. As the National People’s Power (NPP) government marks its first year in office, both the U.S. State Department and the Asian Development Bank have issued red alerts about Sri Lanka’s economic outlook. The State Department highlights that Sri Lanka’s investment climate remains challenging, even though 5 percent GDP growth in 2024 exceeded expectations. The proposed new bill to amend the Penal Code, which seeks to criminalise corporal punishment, has been strongly criticised by a former government minister and President's Counsel as a move that could lead to "anarchy" and destabilise the country. The government maintains that the bill, which Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya recently said does not target schools or teachers, is aimed at ending disciplinary methods that cause harm to students and providing legal punishment for such offences.
