CHANNEL 4 TEAM WHO ALLEGED RAPE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED

Three journalists representing the controversial Channel 4 news in London who broadcast an unsubstantiated rape story based allegedly on LTTE propaganda has been arrested , police spokesman in Colombo said.
Police spokesman Ranjith Gunasekera said the three were arrested in the Eastern Port city of Trincomalee and escorted by the Police to Colombo.
They were charged on tarnishing the image of the government security forces and the Police said the government said they are still conducting the investigations.
A member of the British parliamentary delegation who visited the same camp has said in Britain that the horror stories said about the camp are not true. Meanwhile moderate Tamil leader and President of the Tamil United Liberation Front V. Ananda Sangaree told India’s Express newspaper that the story is a hoax.
Sources said no unnatural death or rape has ever occurred at the camp as the television channel suggested.

FULL MARKS TO THE GOVERNMENT IN DETAINING THESE REPORTERS WHO FABRICATE FALSHOODS.
THE WHOLE WORLD NOW KNOW OF THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE SRI LANKAN FORCES. NO ONE IN ITS RIGHT SENSES WILL BELIEVE THESE FALSHOODS. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT YIELD TO ANY PRESSURE.
LOCK THEM UP AND CHARGE THEM. THERE SHOULD BE NO PREFRENTIAL TREATMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE FOREIGNERS.
HOW DARE CHANNEL 4 ASK FOR EXPLANATIONS FROM SRI LANKA.

Not good enough. All media in the UK, even msn, always accusing the SL gov of killings and shellings. There is something wrong in the way that SL gov’s way of informing the world media about the true situation. It seems to be lots of tamil diaspora terrorists have penitrated the foreign media so badly. Gov need beter and stronger counteracting methods. As i live in the UK and seeing all these wrong reports, Im not satisfied at all about governments effort to counteract these false tactics of the terrrorists. Gov must must change uk SL ambassodor (jayasinghe)cos he cannot argue, explain things well to media, as we observed during the C4 interview, it was so bad.They (media) take advantage of it. We need some one like dayan jayathillake, who can talk well to the point in front of so called british jurnalists. I bet jayasinghe is a pure political appointment, a friend of some gov minster or MR. This is not good, gov should have better plan to defeat these media related terrorist roots in the UK and the west. there are plenty of evidence as there is no good article, news about sl gov and forces on any media in the UK.
