Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
10 Downing Street London. SW1 2AA, UK

Honourable Prime Minister Brown:

I just read a news item which said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Saturday (May 16) warned Sri Lanka there would be ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-consequences for its actionsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ if Colombo did not allow humanitarian agencies access to civilians and end the conflict with Tamil Tiger rebels.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢

WellƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦wellƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦wellƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ Gord ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ you sound just like a 1960s winkle-pickered, leather jacketed, bicycle chain carrying skinhead (thatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s when I lived in London and you were about 12 years old and living in Scotland)) going after every Indian looking face and bashing them calling them, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-You damn PakisƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You sound just like one of those dreadful bullies.

Surely, you are not going to round up your refugee British Tamil Tigers, Velu, Sivaraj, Rajadorai, Sivapalan, Nadaraja, Rahim, Poopalapillai, Jothi, Saivar, Dosai, Vadey, Subalaxmi, Rajini, Nirupa, Adele Bala, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Kumar, Chellaraj and the gang who are terrorizing your suburbs, and put them on a plane to invade Sri Lanka? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By the way donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t miss two top battle hardened Tamil Tigers, Kumar and Sivaji who did their target practice by shooting at young Sinhalese farmer children down Amparai, who I believe are living somewhere in Ealing. But, just a warning Gord, some of your Tamil Tiger army guys and gals may not want to get over to Colombo and might drop their pants on the tarmac, as they did once before at Heathrow, not wanting to get on that attack cargo plane.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Just a warning for you to consider before you get embarrassed!

Gord, I just want to remind you that Sri Lanka is not Falkland Islands of yours in case you got that fact all twisted in your mind and have started to flex your muscles at puny Sri Lanka just to show the western nations that you are a macho Prime Minister and still humming the archaicƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Rule BritanniaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Let me whisper to you what a fly-on-the-wallƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  told me after hearing what President ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mahinda Rajapaksa told his advisors when he was briefed of your ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”bullyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ statement after his return from Jordon.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This was part of the conversation ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-You know, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The English never draw a line without blurring itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I hope that Brown realizes that, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-A man does what he must ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” in spite of personal consequences in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” and that is the basis of all human morality,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and that I am a very moral person.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I am sure that Brown knows me quite well that I stand for ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and that I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t like such bullying, especially from our former colonial masters who think that they still own us!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I know, I will ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Never give in! Never give in! Never, never, never, neverƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦In nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions or honour and good sense!ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Quote ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ me what I said to Prime Minister Brown as that is my response before he jumps into the River Thames, as I am sure he will recall all these quotes which he may have studied while he was writing his Doctoral thesis in History at the University of Edinburgh, as they are quotes that I borrowed ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ from his World War II Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Tell him, that I am a keen student of that great Prime MinisterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s quotes which certainly gives me that bit of oomph to push aside ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ people like Gord Brown, and his side kick that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”podianƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (small boy) David ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Miliband who is making such a nuisance of himself poking his nose into my business telling me how to run my country.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

All this Gord, I am telling you in confidence.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Just cut out your bullying President Mahinda Rajapaksa as you will get no where, as he has been mandated by Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Constitution to take whatever stepsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ he has to guard his peoples and their territory and not take dictates from busy bodies like you.

I hope my prompting will help you somewhat and pass the message to your David Miliband too and ask him not to push himself thinking that he knows it all regarding good governance in Sri Lanka, a little island that has haemorrhaged for 26 years because of Tamil Tiger terrorism and you guys were no help to stop that bleeding.

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe

  2. godhamba Says:

As the greatest perpetrator of brutality and terrorism in this world – back when it was called “colonialism” – Britain shouldn’t s o much as a utter a peep with respect to what actions the GOSL should or shouldn’t take

  3. MHIT Says:

I Salute you guys for your bravery to inform these people that we Sri Lankans are a proud nation who won’t tollerate this kind of treatment.
As far as I am concerened Brown boy Miliband boy Hillery Nangi ,Couchner,Erik ..they all will rot in hell. They can’t see that our brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives to get rid of the most ruthless terrorist organisation in the world and we can see their ruthlessness by their cowerdly acts of damaging sri lankan missions, throwing acid in the faces of inncent civilians in Australia, and god knows what more to come. In the future it will be eelam in UK ,Canada,Norway and many more countries. Hope those countries will wake up to thae fact.

It is a crime that innocent boys in Sydney have been attacked in a so barbaric way.

If the developed world resisted terrorism against democratically elected governments right from the beginning, terrorism wouldn’t have been developed to a stage to attack World Trade Centre. They believe the misrepresentations of the LTTEs. Total blind eye was turned when constantly Sinhalese villages, Central Bank etc were attacked and LTTEs had a so much of mysterious and unseen backing.

I know friends who are Indians and Chinese who migrated to Australia from Malaysia because of the discrimination they experience to non-Malays to have unreasonably high thresholds for higher education etc than the Malay nationals. When I said our Tamils learned in their own language (which was their first language ) and had 100% equal thresholds based on merits with any other citizen of the country, they were shocked to hear that. They said that wasn’t what they heard. There are so many civilised Tamils who are our friends and feel sorry for LTTEs for the sake of their race. But terrorism against democratically elected governments shouldn’t be encouraged in a civilised world to bring this outcome.
