The Tamils entered the house by smashing glass panes of the entrance and they have also damaged the furniture of the house before leaving.

According to sourc3es the Sinhalese held a victory celebration for the defeat of Velupillai Prabhakharan at a public park.

There had been a clash between the parties at the park.

But the victims of the attack had nothing to do with the victory celebrations or the clash between the parties. They were working students and had been at work during those happenings.

Sources said they had been selected to attack on a racist basis as they were Sinhalese.
