SRI LANKA TO HOLD JAFFNA MC AND VAVUNIYA UC ELECTIONS; NOMINATION ON JUNE 14-24 2009

Minister Janaka Bandara Tennekoon revealed that the nomination dates have been gazetted to call nominations to the Jaffna Municipal Council elections and Vavuniya Urban Council elections.

He said in Colombo elections for these local bodies are being held after 11 years .

He said, according to the promise by President Rajapaksa, nominations for the two local bodies will be called between June 14 to 24.
